To be worried about the Ched Evans threads on here

Sorry but this does seem like a witchunt to me. Many of the posters (who have signed the petition) obviously have little knowledge of the case. At one point a poster said Sports Direct would withdraw sponsorship if Evans was NOT signed and immediately others were vowing to boycott. Laughable and shows the level of thought before clicking. Online justice and the court of public opinion, not for me. As for expecting football, an industry corrupt from the very top (Sepp Blatter) and inherently sexist, to show any moral stance, get real.

Yes, it absolutely was generic, and it was to point out to malice that the comments on this thread are nothing to do with an agenda, or not wanting to listen to viewpoints that disagree with their own or any of the other things she said (which sometimes I think does happen, just not on what is being discussed here).

It's not just that people claim they know better, its that nobody - in a news paper column, on twitter, in comments, on forums, on TV, on the radio - has been able to explain intelligently why they know better.

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 13/01/2015 20:51

The main defence according to his family/supporters seems to be that the victim is a "money grabbing slut" Hmm

AnyFucker · 13/01/2015 21:00

even though there is no record of her anywhere trying to claim compo

and if there were, you can bet your gold tooth someone would find it

Icimoi · 13/01/2015 21:19

Strange how Malice and Choclover disappear whenever they're asked to explain their views. I suspect they'll be back at some point when they hope everyone will have forgotten, earnestly telling us how in their view the jury was wrong before failing to answer the same questions all over again.

Icimoi · 13/01/2015 21:26

I don't get who she's supposed to have claimed compo from? Evans is the most obvious candidate, and there is no way he would keep quiet about it. Otherwise there's Criminal Injuries Compensation, but again AFAIK if she had claimed it would have been publicised. Further, she wouldn't be entitled to mega bucks given that she was too smashed to know anything about it so can't claim for suffering during the rape itself. And, of course, if her objective was compensation, how could she possibly have known Evans would come to the hotel room, let alone that he would obligingly give the police the requisite confirmation that she was raped? Going to the police station to report the loss of a handbag rather than the rape itself would have been a ridiculous way to start the claim anyway.

QueenTilly · 13/01/2015 21:39

Also, peak blood-alcohol content is reached sometime after your last drink, as it takes a little time to be absorbed. She could have easily been more drunk at the hotel than in the street without consuming any more alcohol.

That explains a lot! Not simply this case, but general experiences I've had escorting drunken family/flatmates to A&E or watching them overnight because I was worried they were going to vomit in their sleep. It's never clicked why people seem to become less sober a bit after they've stopped drinking.

Regarding this thread. I am a habitual tee-totaller. As such, I was the designated Dealer With Things that very drunk students couldn't handle. The ability to go back and fetch a pizza box means fuck-all when it comes to consent.

No, House, I certainly wasn't intending to suggest that I thought that rape was any easier to cope with just because the victim was unconscious at the time. However, my understanding was that pain and distress experienced during the rape would increase compensation

In any event, given what this woman has gone through at the hands of Evans' supporters, £15K would go nowhere.

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 13/01/2015 22:32

Yes, she really is a money-grabber isn't she? She'll be able to move house with that! More than once! Maybe even five times!

On the off chance she claimed her bingo prize CICA windfall, I bet she is quaffing Moet and living a life of luxury on Mustique right now

laughing maniacally at the five (count 'em) framed deed polls lining the walls, the rest of her life looking like it is absolutely made

NeedsAsockamnesty · 13/01/2015 23:07

The CICB often refuses to pay a bean and routinely argues what injury means.

Sorry, I didn't mean to suggest that you were spreading myths.
Just getting tired of the stream of "reasons" why this woman can't possibly be a victim of rape.

VikingVolva · 14/01/2015 06:53

It was quite widely reported that the Attorney General was investigating the website, and results were expected shortly.

Could changes be in anticipation of findings?

The Whois site shows the website is registered to him. So it is correct to refer to it as his site. Can anyone tell me if that is enough to make him responsible for all its content?

No, but I do think that people are interested in this case for reasons other than that they are 'rape apologists'. I dont know, maybe its all the tv shows with the forensic evidence and the like mean that many people don't really know how our criminal justice system actual works.

^this is very true^

Some of evans' family have stated that, "there was no DNA evidence", clearly not understanding that there doesn't need to be, both admitted sex with her.

chock

At least 4 CCTV videos were shown to the jury, most were actual movie footage and showed her staggering and falling over.

The one of her arriving at the hotel is, as has already been said, stop motion, it is not 'film' in the sense of, 'movie film'. It is still shots placed together, it cannot show any one staggering because of that.

Why do you think the other CCTV material is not on evans' website?
