Mums going on holiday 2 weeks before my due date

My mum is going abroad for two weeks right before my due date, this is my first baby and my mums first grandchild. She has been so involved and wants to be there at the birth (I also want her to be there too!) so I can't understand why she's booked to go away so close to due date?

My SIL (who has found my whole pregnancy very difficult as she is TTC and won't talk to me) originally booked the holiday the week the baby is due but my mum said she couldn't go then so they moved the dates slightly.

My mum has told me not to worry and that everything will be fine. AIBU?

My daughter has to have an induction on Monday, but i am supposed to go on holiday Monday. I don't know what to do. Any suggestions

My mum had ready booked a trip...which as it turns out is six days before my due date. I am really not bothered... If I have the baby early she'll see him when she's back. First baby and first grandchild too.

It's your baby and you and DH will be the ones looking after it. It's nice to have support, but lots of people don't have any and are really, really fine. Good luck.

Um, the baby in the OP is 3yo now...

I wouldn't worry. Most first babies come late anyway, and it's not important that she's there, it's about you and your OH bonding and experiencing it together. He is the one who will be raising this child with you, so that is the most important.

Thanks

1HitWonder hope the baby isn’t 3 years late. Wink

You have a partner who will be there for you, which is what your mum is also thinking. As others have said the whole world does not stop because you are having a baby. All will be fine, good luck.
