I know, I know!!
Turned on Radio2, initially had no idea who it was and found myself nodding along to every word.

As a 'fatty' myself I had to agree with all she said. I did this to myself. I like food, especially junk food waaay too much. I hate exercise a lot. Nobody to blame but me.

The horror of agreeing with her may, possibly, finally force me to get off my arse and do something about it though I will never in RL admit that she has made me wake up and realise this is all on me

All I would add, as clearly she cannot be completely right and understanding life in anyone else's shoes, that her circumstance is different to mine.

My weight crept on gradually over the years.
My mindset has never been to actively put weight on with the intention of losing it again, I simply developed bad habits over a long time.

put not out

Junglen · 05/01/2015 19:51

Her starting weight wasn't her normal weight I'd guess. She never struck me as thin, so I suspect she deliberately went below her usual weight before the 'challenge' started, so that she wouldn't really be putting on three stone.

cleanmachine · 05/01/2015 20:04

Yes junglen. Exactly. And from what I've heard from someone in the know her final weigh in was done straight after a huge meal and 2ltrs of water. For me that can result in a 9lb gain on the scales straight after eating. So she didn't really gain 3 stone.

It was all a bit of a farce imo. Shes a professional troll. Vile woman.

yumyumpoppycat · 06/01/2015 00:01

Like others have said she didn't look 3 or 4 stone heavier stone at the end, more like a pregnant lollipop, so I can believe that about her having a big meal and employing water retention tricks. Makes it all the more laughable that she didn't get down closer to the start weight in the time-frame but still persists in standing by her crappy comments. She is ridiculous, I feel cross I watched it and I happily watch all sorts of shit tv.

FlowerFairy2014 · 06/01/2015 14:25

It certainly shows if you eat more you put on weight and if you don't you lose it though. That is something most of us know but so many people find so hard to put into practice as they keep stuffing their faces with food every day.

Tribeca10013 · 06/01/2015 14:47

She is predictably contentious, her role is to incense and generate responses, hence she gets jobs.because she generates response and publicity.imo, she'd be best ignored.shes yappy and will piss on carpet when excited like an excitable puppy.

hollyisalovelyname · 06/01/2015 18:40

In this KH instance 'shoot the messenger but not the message' Grin

fascicle · 06/01/2015 19:09

But unfortunately she wasn't telling anybody anything new or useful.

redpriestandmozart · 07/01/2015 13:30

For some of us it's just about choice, I choose to eat junk for nearly 10 years and was very overweight. Nearly 3 years ago one morning it just clicked and I started to eat healthy, absolutely no exercise (disability) so throws the move more theory out the window. I consume only 1200 calories a day, lost 6 stone the first year and another stone and a half last year which I refer to as a maintenance year and still keeping the weight off. I really don't eat a lot now and hate the feeling of being too full. It can be done.

ppeatfruit · 07/01/2015 14:56

Bloody Congratulations redpriestand Flowers That is so great you should go to the press with your story. Grin Grin

SoleSource · 07/01/2015 18:39

redpriestandmozart

What did you eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks please?

You are AMAZING!!!!

Fabulous self improvement x

redpriestandmozart · 07/01/2015 18:56

Thank you, I'm not a very out going person so would never go to the press lol. I'm an all or nothing person so didn't eat many sweets, chocolate or crisps during the first year as if I got a little I'd be off the wagon instantly!

I'm a very regimented eater, I only ever take cereal or porridge, only recommended amount of cereal or 1/4 cup oats with a little fruit. I start the day with a smoothie made of a banana, glass soy milk, glass fruit juice & 500g spinagh, this makes 3 glasses which does me three mornings.

Lunch is usually soup, I make tonnes of the stuff, at least 4 different pots a week, freeze it and use one a day. I don't eat bread or anything with it. Snacks would usually only be fruit, I take a piece after dinner most nights.

Dinners are just healthy balanced small portions, I keep within the 1200 calories a day so effectively I was simply calorie counting. I am vegan but don't let that fool you as it is totally possible to be a fat vegan!

SoleSource · 07/01/2015 19:03

I thank you so much for your answer. I was unsure of whether to ask, I really didn't want to make you feel uncomfortable about posting your daily diet.

Thanks

The struggle of overeating is horrific. You must be so much stronger and confident now?

mathanxiety · 07/01/2015 19:27

What do you do for vitamin B12?

redpriestandmozart · 07/01/2015 20:15

SoleSource don't worry about asking :)

For B12 I take a vegan supplement and I eat loads of nutritional yeast.

I just watched 5 minutes of the new celeb BB and I turned it off. KH just got completely booed and she loved it.

I was debating seeing who was in the house but after her as the first 'celeb' I'm going to watch reruns of CSI.

SoleSource · 07/01/2015 21:11

Hatie is on CBB?

Moonraker37 · 07/01/2015 21:13

She's a caricature, silly woman. I do like the shorter hair though and dress.

newyearsresolutionsnotforme · 07/01/2015 21:16

SoleSource She is. I just got out the shower, DH is watching and says she's been told to be a poison princess or something and basically (his words) behave like a cunt to the others

Ujjayi · 08/01/2015 10:47

Reading these weight loss stories it is clear that there is no "One formula for all". Even for the same person, the way you lose weight one time may not work again at a later date. This was definitely the case with me, as I previously discussed.

It must also relate to the reason for the weight gain. eg simply over-eating you would assume calorie counting & healthful diet would reduce weight. Whereas, medicine-induced or medical condition weight gain (flatlining your metabolism) can be completely resistant to straightforward eat less/move more. However, IME it is possible to lose weight in this scenario but it takes effort to uncover the right approach for you.

As vile as she is, at least it has provoked discussion & that's a good thing.

ppeatfruit · 08/01/2015 10:51

redpriest Have you looked at Paul Mckenna? Because he helps maintain weight loss by changing the how,why and wherefore of our eating habits. Like you I follow a very healthy way of eating (though with some fish) and maintain with P.M. it's worth a look because it allows our body to do it's own portion control and it works well, you never feel hungry because you only eat when you ARE really hungry.

ppeatfruit · 08/01/2015 10:51

I'm not on his pay role BTW Grin.

LadyLuck10 · 08/01/2015 10:57

The truth hits home for many people.

UnacceptableWidge · 09/01/2015 08:10

agentCooper I agree completely with your point about good old British values of respect and decency.
I abhore the nasty, hurtful bullies who 'speak their mind' 'say what they think' 'are the only ones brave enough to be honest'
There was a girl at my high school like that. She bullied a lot of girls and disguised it as honest criticism. Her little gang used to nod and agree with her in a mob rule kind if way. Made lives miserable.
Of course, over the years, she started to honestly criticise her gang and by the time we left school she had no friends, no respect, not a single person liked her and she was even more bitter, twisted and nasty.

Maybe KH had a similar experience during her teenage years explaining why she is such a twat?

Will be very interesting to see her on CBB. Already she isn't what I expected.
Less cutting remarks without the time to decide what she allegedly thinks of people (or without her scriptwriter perhaps)
I know this thread wasn't started about CBB but Patsy and Nadia are nice *wanders off to find CBB thread

I totally agree with one size does not fit all, it absolutely does not. There are as many ways of losing weight as there are of reasons to have gained that weight and what worked once may not work again for a person as .

I like to think (and I know this is weird just bear with me on this) that underneath my body is like bubble wrap with each bubble being a fat cell, as I lose a pound one is burst but it is still there to be filled again and while all burst bubbles are a weight loss my body has the memory to fill the popped cells again! Or maybe I just like bursting bubble wrap!

Weight gain and weight loss is indeed a very complex issue. I will have a look at Paul McKenna thanks :)
