To have hidden In the bathroom

My lovely ds has a cold/cough which he's passed onto me. He is clingy. Apart from climbing back inside my c-section womb it's not close enough for him he then sits and wriggles and pushes himself into me all. Day.

I need a wee he followed wanted to sit on my lap, go between me and the toilet, on my shoulders everywhere I can't even wipe myself!! So I pretended to through something out the door and he went after it. Ive closed and locked said door. He's now banging on it yelling for me to hug him and to come back

I just want 5 minutes to breathe on my own is that wrong? I just want to pee and sort myself out without having to work around a tall two year old I. A bathroom you can't swing a hamster in!

I'm hoping he'll nap but I know he won't

This has been going on since Christmas Eve if that helps

Poor you ! Can you hide and in a bathroom cupboard it sounds like you need it !

I'm currently 15+2 so I can't even take anything for this headache/nose congestion which is driving me Insane! It's gone very quiet though so may venture out in a minute hoping he's grabbed blankie and fallen asleep!

He's asleep thank god! He was knocked but man I need some space once in a while right!

Believe it or not he's under there snoring away!

You have my full sympathy. My 2 have been ill since the start of December with bugs, chest infections etc and I feel like I've just had a hot sweaty child clinging to me for the whole of Christmas. Obviously I want to offer comfort, but it would be lovely if they'd just settle with someone else for 5 minutes.

However they will soon be better and I'll miss the cuddles!

I know I'll miss the cuddles once he's better but it's just me and him most days so even when my dp is here he wants me to carry him everywhere then sit with him. He's a heavy one too!

You have a right to go to the loo without another person sitting on you. Good for you OP - sounds like you need a break!

Mozz - he's 2.8 however if you'd like a 15kg snotty coughing in your face two year old sat on your chest/lap/shoulders/head/ankles etc for the past 4 days you're welcome to give me 5 minutes break so I can be in a tiny bathroom without someone on my lap. To get him to nap you have to leave him on his own or hell just keep getting more miserable. However if you think I'm being unreasonable to want to be able to wipe my own fango then fair play.

Christ I remember that at that age.

I had a travel cot in the living room and when I wanted a couple of minutes not being touched I climbed in it myself. Hope he's on the mend.

Heh my kids tend to be born with really short legs in proportion to their bodies. They don't grow in till about 5 so he had no chance

He's normally fine when he was little from about 1 till 1.7 he was clingy nobody could look after him as he'd cry all the time. He got out of it but this has threw him, I don't think he'd appreciate me sitting on his lap when he was peeing

I'd be so lucky haha im only 5'3 he's so tall he's the hight of my friends 5 year old! He needs jeans in age 3-4/4-5 but adjustable waist as he's so skinny his waste is 12-18 months

I make all mine stay outside the bathroom dc3 (21 months) not impressed by this. He either sits at the door and cries or his new tactic is to kick the door - sigh. Every parent should at least get to pee alone.

My oldest is 10, my youngest 4, I can't wait until I can pee in peace again.

LOL I remember the company while having a pee age. My kids used to lie on the floor with their fingers under the door, saying they could see my feet. Then they started school and used to push notes under the door to me and ask me to write back. Then get upset when I couldn't reach the note and didn't have a pen.

Ds1 used to sleep with me when ill as a tot. He desperately wanted skin contact, so in the middle of winter I would wake up with him lying across my face.
