I've been for a walk this morning and I'm off to the gym for 2 hrs this afternoon. Tomorrow I'm at the gym for 2 hrs in the morning and will go for a walk in the afternoon.

How do you like them apples then GrinGrinGrin

Sirzy · 27/12/2014 13:00

I have been out got soaked in the rain and had an argument with tesco. I'm quite pleased to be heading home to a lovely warm happy house Smile

SparkleZilla · 27/12/2014 13:00

i hate walking, i hate walking in the cold, i LIKE sitting at home and doing nothing (or baking)

busyboysmum · 27/12/2014 13:01

I am going to walk to the tram in a bit and get it into town where the plan is to pub crawl round Manchester. Does that count?

GarlicDrankTheChristmasSpirit · 27/12/2014 13:03

You've been up Scafell Pike, AF? What a masochistic fool wonderfully energetic person you are! I bloody resented that thing when I was fit enough to make it and admire the view Wink

You're right, though, Mudda, Mumsnet's all grim and gripey. As it's completely failing to amuse me in small but heartwarming ways, I might even have to get dressed (Shock) and engage in a gentle trudge along the riverbank.

If I find any inspiration while I'm shivering outdoors, I'll come back and start a silly thread Xmas Smile

GarlicDrankTheChristmasSpirit · 27/12/2014 13:04

Busy - that counts, with bonus points.

Sparklingbrook · 27/12/2014 13:06

I went out for a walk yesterday. It was meh.

furcoatbigknickers · 27/12/2014 13:06

We went for a walk on christmas day back from pub snd im taking 3 of mine swimming soon

Sparklingbrook · 27/12/2014 13:08

I scaled Scafell Pike in 1981. No desire to do it again. It was very hilly.

iwantgin · 27/12/2014 13:11

I only like walking if there is a pub at the end of it ..

So perhaps later if the snow buggers off.

PurplePidjingThroughTheSnow · 27/12/2014 13:12

No snow dowun yurr but ds has been on his Christmas Bike twice already this morning and I'm enjoying his mammoth nap (coming up for 2 hours already, yay!) by staring at the toy explosion my living room has become before I magically remove most of them after bedtime tonight. DP has been for a run

MuttersDarkly · 27/12/2014 13:12

daft question have you connected it to a pc/Mac whatever other than the plug?

not daft question. yup. tried it on everything. including the sky box (has USB port, will try)

got a new cable thingie this morning. still nothing.

brushed out the slit in case of fluff issues. Still nothing.

Car is in the garage needing new .... Not entirely sure, distribution thingie belt, and now my iPad croaks.

I love that iPad. we have had three years of near constant loving attachment.

RIP little one. you worked so valiantly despite all the students (especially the toddlers) trying to finish you off. you rest now, I'll try and adjust to teaching with pen and paper again.

Oh dear god I have to rejoin RL and the prospect is just... Blerrrggggggg.

I like people you can turn off with a loud sniff and press of the round button when they piss you off or talk drivel.

so now I bid thee all farewell, cos DS wants to add salt to the wound by swiping back his tiny iPad for the sake of watching basketball instruction videos. And I gave him LIFE! And everything. ungrateful baggage.

WandaDoff · 27/12/2014 13:13

Nope, no chance.

I have enough food to feed several small armies and I intend to hole up here in my onesie drinking baileys coffee & eating crap whilst loitering around the internet until NY at least.

I may buy some stuff I don't need.
I probably won't post much, but I'll be here.

Scrolling and judging.

Bogeyface · 27/12/2014 13:15

I will be going for a walk....to the end of the road and back as I have run out of wine.

Apart from that, no thanks! My mother is an evangelical walker who will cheerfully drive for an hour to park her car, walk in a huge circle around (or up) a mountain and then drive home again.

I just think that if I stayed at home then I would end up in exactly the same place as her with the added bonus of 8 hours telly time :o

MERLYPUSSEDOFF · 27/12/2014 13:17

I went to sainsbos yesterday for eggs and it wasn't open! So I came home and drowned my sorrows in gin.
Today I am going again for a mooch around the shops (and to get eggs for bubble and squeak), then round dads to eat my weight in heroes and cider. Kind of a walk. Oh, and I have to walk to the garage for top ups of booze when I get home.

Gruntfuttock · 27/12/2014 13:20

I can't "go for a fucking walk" because I'm in agony just from standing up for a few minutes (arthritis). There's nowhere pleasant to walk round here anyway and if I just went up my own road and back that would mean I was walking uphill which is so painful I'm almost in tears when I have to do it. I have a treadmill though. Must I get on that instead? Sad May I wait for the pain to subside from the earlier stand-upping?

livegoldrings · 27/12/2014 13:22

I have just read a hilariously bitchy thread containing some differing opinions about dog training, it was quite entertaining, but not sure enjoying that sort of thing is good for the soul.

ouryve · 27/12/2014 13:22

Ice and beautiful sunshine, this morning. Needed to hunt down some green veg that isn't Brussels fucking sprouts (love them, but bored of them) and a few other fresh bits and pieces, so got out of the house before the car parks filled up completely.

Now back home and holed in and doing a toss up between scrubbing the bathroom or mumsnetting for another 10 minutes.

And DH has just gone in to trim his beard, so the bathroom will be forgotten waiting a little longer.

FlowerFairy2014 · 27/12/2014 13:25

Some of us are working to keep the 75% of people in the UK who are net takers rather than net givers to the system in terms of tax. My son is working today too and everyone in the family is back at work on Monday.

AliceinWinterWonderland · 27/12/2014 13:25

It's raining off and on here, fingers crossed we may actually see a bit of snow. I'd LOVE to go for a walk, however, that would mean ds1 going out in his wheelchair, ds2 whinging the whole time that he doesn't want to stay next to me, ds2 tripping over the wheelchair, putting things in the wheels, ds1 trying to self-propel in front of cars (not on purpose, just no road sense whatsoever) at the roadside, and (with my luck) getting rained on, so both dcs are screaming and crying and upset and wet, so I end up pushing ds1 in the wheelchair whilst carrying ds2.

Yeah. No thanks. Besides... I've already done it once this morning, going to the chemist to get a prescription. I've no desire for a repeat performance.

Theboodythatrocked · 27/12/2014 13:27

Walking to the pub in 5 mins. It's along the canal about 5 mins away. Surely that counts.

Up a fucking hill! Why? Wink

usualsuspect333 · 27/12/2014 13:28

Cheers ,FlowerFairy.

Good on ya.

WhispersOfWickedness · 27/12/2014 13:29

I haven't been out of the house since 23rd December and have had a bloody lovely Christmas Grin
The only grump I've had was when I was promised snow and it didn't come Angry

HoHonutty · 27/12/2014 13:30

I went out for a walk once. It was shit.

ChestyNutRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 27/12/2014 13:32
