To think sending someone constant requests to play games lacks social awareness?

Something and nothing really, but:

A few months ago a girl who I know vaguely from school added me as a friend on Facebook. Since then, I have had four to five requests a DAY to play games.

I know you can just ignore them, which I did, but AIBU to think that it lacks an awareness of sorts - that if someone's ignored them the first week then they aren't interested? Just deleted her as it was getting really annoying.

its is fb that does this just block the game
it isn't hard. I am always amazed that people go on fb and don't do this.

For a lot of Facebook games you can win extra lives etc for sending the request.

You can block specific people from sending you game requests in your settings.

I think often the games send them on your behalf so the people don't realise they are bombarding friends with requests

I've tried to block the game but when I have tried it just takes me to the app store Hmm

I have defriended now as I just got so sick of it and I do feel a bit guilty as there's a backstory with the girl I won't go into - but seriously FIVE a day!? Too much!

You can block requests from certain people if you don't want to defriend them (unless that's what you mean by 'ignore'). I think certain games may send requests automatically, but yes, if somebody is actively sending a request each time then it is very annoying! If I didn't want to play the first time, I probably won't want to play the 235th...

Sternin I remember doing that once but whenever I have tried to block games/requests all that happens is I end up at the App store with the game to download Angry

The thing is Mrs - it's several different games. Diamond Digger and some other such one.

If it's sending to EVERYONE she'd surely have realised; I don't know her well enough to send her a polite message saying it's really getting on my nerves but it was. I kept seeing a notification and thinking I had a message and it was another fucking game! She's unfriended now anyway Blush

They will be sending to everyone...they build the requests into the games and it's sometimes really hard to avoid sending out requests when you're playing them.

Mine send to everyone and it even winds me up!
Usually it will say "friends who play this game" and "all friends", so I definitely think she realises.

Seriously OP - you just need to learn how to block the app unless you like going about defriending people just because they play a FB game.

Settings >>> more settings >>> from the left select 'blocking' >>> scroll down to 'block app invites from' or 'block app' >>> fill in box and save.

I'm actually starting to think posting virtually anything on facebook lacks social awareness, as how many people can hand on heart say that every one of their 150 or so friends will be interested in their post or find it relevant? I think facebook is becoming more like a meme propagator than anything to do with friendship. I am gearing up to unsubscribe but I'm too nosey

I think people that are so irritated by game requests, should learn to block them.

Some people don't know how to stop their games sending out requests.

Some people don't know how to block game requests from games or friends.

Maybe people need to learn how to use Facebook ;)

I have an exhaustive list of apps that I have blocked on FB. I think people have just run out of new ones to play.

The only time I ever played those stupid games is for a few select family members when they were under 13. It was just how we kept in touch. As soon as they forgot about it, I deleted the app.

Because you are irritated by getting the requests. Very little effort required.

I block that game and block that user from sending me game requests, easy on my laptop not so sure from phones, I've had no requests for months...

Well she is deleted now anyway. It was just annoying.

I was unable to block the game from my new laptop although I used to be able to do this.

I get more weary of the people who post statuses complaining about it. I just block the game.
