I think that some people in here are vile yes, just like any corner of the web. I have posted about stuff but would never post about anything really personal on here, like a relationship problem. It scares me that sometimes quite vulnerable people
get ripped to shreds on here.

I would also never admit to being on MN in real life.

I have NC-ed and posted about some very real personal stuff and only ever got lovely, supportive replies from people who seem to know what they're talking about.

Sometimes someone gets a bit snarky but this is an anonymous forum - I mean, of course that's going to happen.

Love MN. Only joined about a year ago but it is fabulous.

You can only expect so much from the internet I suppose. I don't think this site is any worse than any others. In fact, I'd say in many ways it's better than most! So many people mention the help they've had here. Including RL help. That's unusual these days.
