There are a few vicious posters but mainly just lots of honest, opinionated, brilliant folks! Lots of great witty debates.
I'm not vileAngry

lil man and princess vomit vomit.

Mumsnet is great. People who say hun and bubba should really be put out of their misery.

You can call me vile, vicious or a cunt, but don't call me Middle Class.

EhricJinglingHisBallsOnHigh · 11/12/2014 17:45

The nasty cunts have always lurked on mumsnet to be fair, and there has always been a bit of a mob mentality on AIBU. It's not a recent development.

CelibacyCakeAndElevatorMuzac · 11/12/2014 17:48

Fuck off, I'm not Middle Class either.

Wouldn't thank you for it, so much time spent caring what others think of you and making sure you are constantly above those below you.

Not for me ta.

(My definition is based on those who claim to be MC on MN)

I'm not vile, I'm just evil. Grin

GingleFox · 11/12/2014 17:53

Nannynick I think MN is more like a Polar Bear: you'd think it would be lovely and cuddly, but I really wouldn't if I were you Grin

Whatsthewhatsthebody · 11/12/2014 17:54

Celibacy brilliant description of MC well done that poster. Grin

ralgex · 11/12/2014 17:56

Outofcontrol is spot on. Only it's lower middle class. Wink

lottiegarbanzo · 11/12/2014 18:08

MN is the only place I see the word vile used regularly. Likewise baffled. So there is an association. 'As vile as a thing I think of when I hear the word vile'.

Sallystyle · 11/12/2014 18:09

I have seen a few threads recently where 'we' could easily be classed as vile. Of course it is easy to overlook the lovely people on those threads and lump everyone together with the arseholes.

However, I think the support vastly outweighs the vile threads.

And people say net mums is all sweet, but as I have said before, I have had far more shit thrown at me there than I ever have here. They might call each other hun etc but there is just as much bitchiness there.

daisychain01 · 11/12/2014 18:23

but I think that there is a class thing, and I do worry a bit that sometimes, with a poster who is obviously in a vulnerable place, the matter-of-fact, middle class, cynical/sarcastic tone goes too far

I don't think this is a brilliant summary at all - why does the label of "middle class" mean it's open-season to put people into a homogenous lump. Generalisations of any kind are not brilliant.

And goodness only knows how people can jump to the conclusion that someone is "middle class" from their post. Does that mean there are no eloquent, articulate "working class" people?

ralgex · 11/12/2014 18:42

I think on the contrary, daisychain, articulate, eloquent working class people might not be so quick to put people down. Less keen to impress other internet users with their superiority. It's about snobbery.

MissWing · 11/12/2014 19:05

I got badly burnt the first time I posted. Savaged by lions. It was brutal. I always try to express my opinion with love and kindness as a result, because lots of times people post on here because they have had a horrible day.

DustBunnyFarmer · 11/12/2014 19:14

I find the majority of posters on here agreeable. Unlike other online forums (fora - yeah, whatever) where I have posted in the past. I find people's directness quite refreshing.

Baliali31 · 11/12/2014 19:18

This made me laugh out loud. It can be vile - especially AIBU.

Lweji · 11/12/2014 19:20

Spats and unpleasantness are not much different here than elsewhere.

You don't get ott sweetness, and that suits me just fine.

I'm not evil or vile, just (a)live. :)

MissMarplesBloomers · 11/12/2014 19:23

Actully if you hide AIBU it's rather Naice.... mostly.

DustBunnyFarmer · 11/12/2014 19:25

How do you hide folders? There's a couple I could do without.

Tunna · 11/12/2014 19:30

a spades not a spade, it's a fucking Shovel

That's going to be a nice conversation when I next take the kids the seaside "get your bucket and fucking shovel, we're off to the beach!"
