Just browsing through my Facebook and This is what someone said during a argument with a group of people.

How vile are we lot?

Why would anyone hide AIBU?

I am Furrin so I think that means I am not allowed to be anything in the class system.
If someone said I was as vile as MN though, I would be thrilled at the compliment.

I'm classy, and that is enough.

I'm only a member here as MN seems to be universally hated on another (general interest) website I frequent.

For years I'd hear comments about MN - usually derogatory - eventually I came for a gander and loved the place. So much so I barely go on the other website.

I like that this place is so fast moving and that people don't always agree with each other. I like that you can rant and rave and swear

I guess as a Mum myself now I have a lot more in common with people here?

We do have a reputation. I never admit to being a MNer

I have AIBU topic hidden Lweji. It's great. I occasionally will look in 'Most Active' and find an AIBU thread (like this one) but on the whole I don't see a lot of them.

But then I'm mostly in Relationships, and occasionally Chat or AIBU. AIBU can be light relief from the Relationships heavy stuff.

Some of the posts/posters can be vile but most try to be helpful and supportive. I like some of the arguments too! The Daily Mail thinks Mumsnet is vile but I'd take that as a compliment.

I have Relationships well and truly hidden Lewji , along with bajillions of other topics.

I fucking love mumsnet!

Sometimes I find MN can be a bit harsh - but I've been on the TTC after mc and genuinely some of the kindest people ever on those threads which in my darkest days have been incredible.

That said, I love how refreshing mn is, love the swearing and can't bear the "Huns" somewhere else

I think MN needs a bit of hunning, sometimes.

Netmums has its uses. Whenever I've flogged stuff through their nearly new bit, its shifted really quickly.

One man's "vile" is another man's "honest" (and as a bloke I mean "man" before you all start getting vile with me).

As a family we are going through thr toughest few weeks/ months of our lives.
I have been amazed at how supportive some posters have been to a complete stranger. At the same time I have also been amazed at the unpleasantness of some other posters, they are a minority though. Just as in real life I guess, some people sense that you are at your lowest and go in for the kill.

But amongtst the genuine posters, fun and occasional gold nuggets, I find some really nasty, vile posters and plenty of really stupid posters.

Also rather self-regarding ones .

AIBU is a bit tough, but I know some great people from Mumsnet. TBH in my circle of friends it's more looked down on as if there was something sort of trivial and uncool about being a mum, and talking to other mums.
