To feel cheated by the missing verruca?

It formed on my 6 yr old. I worked on it for weeks, nay months. It got everything - cider vinegar, Bazuka, the Scholl freezy stuff.
Over the weeks the roots blackened and grouped and rose up.

I knew it couldn't be long.

And now the damn thing has fallen out on its own. And I can't find it.

All that work. For nothing Sad

YANBU! I would be seriously unimpressed with this.

DealForTheKids · 07/12/2014 19:46

YANBU, how dissatisfying. Angry

Ratracerunner · 07/12/2014 19:49

I tried to hide the sadness in my face when he showed me. To protect him.
I don't want him growing up feeling like he's a disappointment to me.

I was a child of the 1970s early 1980s. I remember my verruca aggression vividly. My mother used to warm it on the AGA (yes so middle class but aga dated from 1910 so give me some credit) and pick it out with a needle-it worked.

ProudAS · 07/12/2014 20:17

I had mine needled - painful for a few days but did the trick.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 07/12/2014 20:21

If you can see black roots does that mean that the verruca is on its way out?

Ds has 2. One has been there for ages. It's not bothered him so I've left it alone. This week he said it was sore and I noticed some black roots for the first time.

I would be very happy if it just sorts itself out.

ElizabethLemon · 07/12/2014 20:21

Ah yanbu! My ds had one for months and months, when I finally got if out with the tweezers I felt totally euphoric.

ChristmasJumperWearer · 07/12/2014 20:23

YA sooooo NBU!

How bloody frustrating!

OhFrabjousDay · 07/12/2014 20:27

Black dots in verrucas aren't roots, they're capillaries that have broken because of the pressure and clotted. It may well go away by itself though, once your immune system kicks in and kills the virus.

Ratracerunner · 07/12/2014 20:34

ElizabethLemon you are just rubbing it in now Xmas Grin

catsofa · 07/12/2014 20:39

Should still be loads of flakey skin around it to spend ages peeling off... I know it's not the same Xmas Sad

RoastitBubblyJocks · 07/12/2014 20:40

I'd be gutted too op. Such a missed opportunity.

I might even search the floors/bed/socks for it.

This is so gross yet so wonderful.

AshesOfRoses · 07/12/2014 21:00

I took my six year to the G.P for something different and had him take a quick look while we were there. No treatment obvs, but it disappeared the very next day. Now DS is convinced that the Dr is actually magic.

I had one for years and tried all sorts. It vanished when I caught a cold Confused

TranmereRover · 07/12/2014 21:00

what did you say to your son was the reason for photographing his former verucca?

MammaTJ · 07/12/2014 21:13

I'd put him up for adoption, he is that much of a disappointment!

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 07/12/2014 21:13

Whatever it was, it wasn't "I talk to online weirdos about skin eruptions".

Purplepoodle · 07/12/2014 21:25

Good old days when I was young involved nurse and a razor blade basically scraping them out of my feet at then doctors - grim

Ratracerunner · 07/12/2014 21:52

I told him it was to send to grandma. Grandma loves anything like that, sporn, ear wax, you name it. I am a mere beginner compared to grandma!

TranmereRover · 07/12/2014 21:55

it's a gift you're passing down the generations

Peepants78 · 07/12/2014 21:59

2 years on and I still miss the ones my ds had!

Ratracerunner · 07/12/2014 22:01

Grandma's husband was a miner and he got dirt build up in the fleshy pores of his neck. Eventually they all became boils and burst, but never really went away due to the embedded dirt.

Grandma sat him down one day with a darning needle and using the head and hot water, scooped and teased every bit of dirt out of each pore and them dettol-ed him.

The boils never came back.

She says it was the happiest day of her life Blush

Jealous of Rat's Grandma! What a day that must have been.

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/12/2014 22:06

If I tell you it might still be there deep in the skin & grow back will you feel better?.
