To feel cheated by the missing verruca?

It formed on my 6 yr old. I worked on it for weeks, nay months. It got everything - cider vinegar, Bazuka, the Scholl freezy stuff.
Over the weeks the roots blackened and grouped and rose up.

I knew it couldn't be long.

And now the damn thing has fallen out on its own. And I can't find it.

All that work. For nothing Sad

I am so sorry for you Thanks. I also think you are putting a very brave face on. I feel your pain.

Keep on going darling, there will be more.

I just love getting the tweezers out. Sweet dreams.

Ratracerunner · 07/12/2014 22:12

Thanks for all your support, I don't feel so alone in my experience now.

I'm pinning my hopes on the spotty teenage years...

I was just telling DP about this thread and he has told me he has something inflamed on my behind.

Happy days are here again!

I have a verruca on my heal. It hurts when I walk. How do I get rid of it? I have some berzuca (sp) which hasn't helped so far.

This sound silly after reading how much you all enjoy picking them but I was worried if I touched it I would get them on my fingers. Are they highly contagious?

I'm scared to pick at it with a needle

GodRestYeMerrySlatterns · 07/12/2014 22:55

hopful there was a fantastic thread about a month ago on the joys of getting rid of verrucas. I believe apple cider vinegar is the elixir of choice.

BigRedBall · 07/12/2014 23:03

I remember treating mine with banana skin and picking with needles. They eventually went away.

DH has hairy feet and sometimes gets ingrown hair that causes massive pussy spots. I pull the hair out with a needle and tweezers. Then I wipe down with dettol. I love it.

DS turns 21 next month, I still recall him doing the same at age 6! Something's just never leave you Hmm.

Did you know that the "pop" you hear when a big 'un lets go is the contents briefly exceeding the speed of sound? And that the deceleration as it slams into the atmosphere can be over 1000 g?

Ratracerunner · 08/12/2014 06:33

Disgrace such beautiful words.

I had seven on my foot once, they developed over months and I didn't do anything about them. One day I got some bazuka and started treating them. A few days later I peeled it off and ALL the verrucas came away, with little roots sticking up from the peely bit.

This was 20 years ago and I still think about that day fondly...

Sadly I've never had another since to repeat the joy :(

Do you have a dog? It may have been eaten.

Do you have a dog? It may have been eaten

EEEEEEEWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!

NancyRaygun · 08/12/2014 13:02

BOAK at the dog eaten it comment! Reminds me of Sex and the City when Miranda's cat has a good chew on her newborn son's fallen off umbilical cord. Grin

That said, OP I feel for you. When the plug of my verruca came out it was one of the best moments of my life. Your only hope here is to go to the swimming pool every Saturday and walk barefoot around the changing rooms til you pick one up of your very own. Thinking of you.

Marylou2 · 08/12/2014 13:08

Poor, poor you.DD had one last year and I worked on it for 6 months.I'd have been devastated not to be there at the bitter end. Why no buy yourself some Footner or Purederm to cheer yourself up?

catsofa · 08/12/2014 17:30

I still can't believe there are other people this gross out there, I always thought I was the only one.

bigbluestars · 08/12/2014 18:15

My dog ate my DDs umbilical cord!

Ratracerunner · 08/12/2014 19:35

I have struggled today. I even had a root around in the kids ears in the hope of finding something...interesting. But nothing.

They are far too clean for their own good.

I don't have a dog, no. If I did, I'd probably be picking at that too.

The dog ate the umbilical cord?!! Brilliant. I'm getting visions of a Rapunzel type scenario where the dog uses it to escape out of the top window.

Catsofa there are many silent others out there who think like us. We haven't even started on sporning yet.

Grandad went deaf at 60. He put olive oil in his ears for weeks and he eventually went to the nurse for them syringing. Out came a beautifully formed 60 year old 'horn' of wax, nearly black at one end, graduating towards yellow at the other.

I bet he wishes he had a camera phone.

My dd had a few verrucas. I was applying bazooka to one when I noticed a piece of fluff on one of the others. I grabbed the fluff absentmindedly and accidentally yanked the verruca out of her foot. I didn't even know that was possible. There was a gaping hole and lots of blood. The others dropped off in the night. Dd still talks about when I ripped her verruca off.

catsofa · 09/12/2014 00:31

I've been with my DP for two and a half years, and am four and a half months pregnant with his child. It was only a couple of weeks ago that I finally popped the big question and... asked if I could squeeze a big spot/ingrowing hair thing he's had for ages and ages.

He said yes! It was very productive but I tried not to squeal in delight too much in case it put him off. I think it is filling up again and will need another squeeze soon. Probably a bit early in our relationship for me to ask to video it.
