that is horrible. But I think having a bin in your living room is a bit grim as well.

Re washing baby, we used cotton wool balls for bum cleaning for the first few weeks for ds1, never bothered with the other madthings as it was a faff! Used a little baby sponge or flannel for washing. Pretty sure my Miriam Stoppard baby book recomended cotton wool balks for babies delicate skin though...

My ds has reflux so needs his neck washing frequently, bath every night and quick wash in the morning with cotton wool! I really fail to see the problem with that, hardly a faff.
I'd imagine it would be more of a faff to pull cotton wool out from your knob to be honest.
