What happened to 12 days before / 12 days after? Am I way out of touch?

I Have also bought and wrapped all presents.

No problems with people putting them up today as it's December tomorrow but I saw quite a number up last weekend and that's just silly. It drags Christmas season out for too long. I know it's not important but It does annoy me.

25,26,27,28,29,30,31,1,2,3,4,5=12 days of Christmas, so I take mine down once DC are in bed on the evening of 5/1 so they aren't up for Epiphany on 6/1.

Outside lights went up today (only cause DH is away next weekend) -
Got a few small bits for the DDs to play with out (Christmas playmobil/teddies/books), next weekend we will put our basement tree up (fake and fun) and other bits and pieces. Won't get our real tree for the main floor until the 12th. So yes I agree it does feel a bit early to see so many trees on Facebook.
Also feeling bah humbug about my neighbours garish lights next to my tasteful white ones!

I was brought up that the Christmas decorations go up after The Feast of the Immaculate Conception (8th December) and stay up until the 6th of January (little Christmas or Nollaig na mBan)
