to wonder how all those who voted Lib Dem in 2010 are going to vote in the 2015 GE?

Curious to know if the Lib Dem vote will collapse as predicted or not.

If you don't want to say which party you are going to vote for instead of the Lib Dems, please can you just say "yes" or "no" as to whether you will be voting for the Lib Dems again, "yes" meaning you are going to vote Lib Dems again and "no" meaning you aren't.

In my case, I voted Lib Dems and I will be voting either Labour or Green in 2015.

For as long as I have been able to vote, I have voted Lib Dem, never again.

No idea who I will vote for next time, maybe "non of the above"

JamNan · 28/11/2014 21:58

I will spoil my vote unless Monster Raving Loonies put up a candidate (Tory safe seat).

Ridingthestorm · 28/11/2014 21:59

No idea.
It depends on their manifesto and I tend to make a decision at the last minute according to whose policies best suit my lifestyle. I am not loyal to one particular party.
Last time I voted conservatives (in a conservative area) but yesterday there was a council poll day and conservatives won by only 150 seats, UKIP came in second with labour a distant third and everyone else got zero votes!
Conservatives seemed to be the right choice for me but unfortunately the education pledges have made my life hell.
So I suppose unlikely to be voting them unless they have a wonderful education manifesto that suits my family life perfect.

MehsMum · 28/11/2014 22:01

Policies:
Tories: Well, Tories: too right wing for this vaguely lefty person
Labour: Iraq, so they are damned forever
Ukip: Right-wing loons
Greens: some Mad Hatter ideas
Liberals: Okay

BUT
Cameron
Miliband
Farage
Clegg

So... no bloody idea.

Tobyjugg · 28/11/2014 22:03

I remember the LibDems saying they'd be prepared to enter a coalition. I have no problem with that. The final straw for me was the U-turn on tuition fees.

Scarletbanner · 28/11/2014 22:18

My LibDem MP (junior Minister but relatively high profile) will almost certainly lose her seat to Labour, due to people who are horrified by what the LibDems have allowed the Tories to get away with.

Interesting that so few people are coming on here to say they will vote LD again.

herecomesthsun · 28/11/2014 22:20

sigh prob Green

catslave · 28/11/2014 22:21

I'm seriously confused by the people who won't be voting LibDem owing to their performance in coalition. Can you imagine how things would have gone if they weren't there to temper the Tory line? They are a small party who can't actually pass any of their own ideas as they don't have the support - but they can modify what the major party wants. For instance, Andrew George (West Cornwall) is currently working to reform the bedroom tax so it can't be charged if there isn't a smaller place to move to. Okay, he didn't get that through before the legislation was passed but they are the MINORITY party - so they couldn't do much about tuition fees.

I'm not a LibDem member / activist (disclaimer) but it baffles me that people expected them to follow their manifesto when they were a very junior party...

writtenguarantee · 28/11/2014 22:25

voted lib dem, and that's my natural spot. not a labour supporter and definitely not Tory.

I don't know the green policies, but might give them the X for a protest.

writtenguarantee · 28/11/2014 22:26

i think clegg needs to be shown the door before people go back to lib dem.

FreeButtonBee · 28/11/2014 22:40

Voted lib dem. will vote for them again. Agree that as minority partner in coalition thy have limited room to push through their policies. Overall I would like to see more coalition govts and stop this see saw flipping between extremes every 8 years or so.

TooMuchRain · 28/11/2014 22:47

Overall I would like to see more coalition govts and stop this see saw flipping between extremes every 8 years or so.

If only the conservatives and labour were extremes! The reason I will not vote Labour is that they are constantly chasing the tory vote and so joining the race to the bottom. Having said that, I have no problem with coalition, but it has to be based on compromise and the libdems did't even manage to get voting reform.

giraffescantboogie · 28/11/2014 22:48

I voted lib dem - I won't again

SecretRed · 28/11/2014 22:53

Lib dem in 2010. Will vote labour in 2015.

LividofLondon · 28/11/2014 22:53

Regarding FluffyMcnuffy's post, bear in mind The Spectator is a conservative paper so they probably have an agenda against left wing parties such as the Green Party. Also, the MP for Brighton is Caroline Lucas. The leader of the Green Party Natalie Bennett, seen on ITV Leaders Live.

Elmersnewfriend · 28/11/2014 22:53

I voted Lib Dem last time.

My priority 1 would be keeping UKIP out. I cannot believe I'm saying it, but I'd vote Tory if UKIP were a realistic prospect here, and tory was the next best option.

Other than that, I will vote whatever has the best chance of beating the Tories - probably Labour.

With PR I would vote Green though.

ThePinkOcelot · 28/11/2014 23:05

Voted lib dem last time. Ukip.

avocadotoast · 28/11/2014 23:27

Our area tends to stay Labour, but I'll be voting Green I think.

TheNewStatesman · 28/11/2014 23:33

If I am actually able to vote again at all (need to check what my status is, as I have lived overseas for quite a while) then it will be Lib Dem same as before.

The seat in question is Lib Dem vs Tory, basically, so I will go for LD for that reason, for a start.

I am not inspired by the LDs but they are probably the best out of a sorry lot. I am NOT a Tory voter no matter, I cannot bring myself to vote for Labour, and the Greens are a joke.

I don't really get that whole OMG BETRAYED!!!! thing, and I find it a bit childish in some ways. A party that is actually in power is going to have to behave more pragmatically than a party that is in opposition and therefore free to waffle on about all the marvelous things they would do if they were in power.

FushandChups · 28/11/2014 23:57

Lifelong Lib Dem voter here but pretty torn this time round.. I think I will see what my local lot have to offer but I think the LD's are going to be annihilated as their staunchest supporters - and I do count myself as one - are wavering and looking at other options. I know they were the minor partner in the coalition but this was their real chance to temper some of the more extreme tory policies and I haven't really seen that despite a PP saying that this has happened.

Tobyjugg · 29/11/2014 00:05

Sorry catslave I don't agree. They could have done more than they did and they failed to appreciate that many of their grass roots supporters hate Tories more than the Labour party does.

GatoradeMeBitch · 29/11/2014 00:23

I voted Lib Dem. I was impressed with their college tuition promises... Grin

I won't ever vote for them again. If I had to vote right now I would chose the Green Party, simply because they are the only political party not making my arse twitch.

TidyDancer · 29/11/2014 01:21

I voted LD last time but never again. I am sadly living in a Tory stronghold and only went with LD as a tactical vote. Will probably be Labour this time.

Toadinthehole · 29/11/2014 01:22

Will be voting LD in 2015. I'm registered to vote in a LD-held constituency whose MP I like.

I think the LDs have been a bit maladroit in government but I'd rather have them than anyone else.

Toadinthehole · 29/11/2014 01:27

I think the LD vote will hold up pretty well in seats they hold from the Tories. They will get annihilated elsewhere. Interesting to note that the bookies seen to think they'll hold +25 seats. That allows for a major cull, but not the wipe out some expect.
