to wonder how all those who voted Lib Dem in 2010 are going to vote in the 2015 GE?

Curious to know if the Lib Dem vote will collapse as predicted or not.

If you don't want to say which party you are going to vote for instead of the Lib Dems, please can you just say "yes" or "no" as to whether you will be voting for the Lib Dems again, "yes" meaning you are going to vote Lib Dems again and "no" meaning you aren't.

In my case, I voted Lib Dems and I will be voting either Labour or Green in 2015.

Although just saw fluffys link!

Ionacat · 28/11/2014 19:57

Definitely not Lib Dem again. I didn't vote Lib Dem to get Michael Gove. Safe Tory seat though, so haven't a clue. Possibly Green, an independent candidate perhaps if there is one. I can't bring myself to vote Labour. My Dad was a Lib Dem councillor who resigned from the party in disgust after they went into coalition and stood on an independent ticket and kept his seat. My husband has also resigned his membership of the party and isn't intending to vote for them. (I used to wind them up on when they phoned up by calling them the Con Dems!) They are going to be wiped out completely, I can't see Labour making many gains, and I shudder at the thought of UKIP making gains.

Showy · 28/11/2014 20:07

lljkk, you must be in Norfolk?! I live in a different part of Norfolk now but used to have a high profile Lib Dem minister with whom I've discussed gardening. He's friends with my Dad and I have a lot of respect for him. It puts my Dad in a tough position because while a socialist at heart, he has always supported the local LibDem MP because he thinks he's the absolute best choice for them (I still lived there when he was first elected and we danced on a table). I live in bloody Truss Land now.

The LibDem supporters I know will be voting Green or Labour.

Laloue23 · 28/11/2014 20:16

Lib dem last time, green next time.

catgirl1976 · 28/11/2014 20:17

I'm not entirely sure tbh. Not Tory, but I'm not loving Labour either :(

NotMyChashkaChai · 28/11/2014 20:17

Yes will be voting ld again in 2015! safe labour seat though so won't make any difference. I am believer in coalition politics as in favour of PR. There was simply no other credible option in 2010 - neither a coalition with labour nor backing up a minority unstable tory government were credible options and I think it's too the LDs credit that they've seen the coalition through. I suspect I may be holding a minority opinion though!

member · 28/11/2014 20:31

I haven't a clue. This constituency tends to vote Tory, Lib Dems are the only real challenge and won last time. The Lib Dem MP has not been been high profile thus far in campaigning for 're-election. The young, Tory candidate has been VERY good at being seen/publicising attendance at lots of local businesses and events & I suspect will win this time round as a result.

I have always voted tactically to stop the Tories getting in but swore I wouldn't' after the coalition/Clegg abandoning his principles. I doubt there will even be a left wing candidate fielded here; it'll be independents with an anti-Europe sentiment & UKIP.

skylark2 · 28/11/2014 20:35

I won't be voting Lib Dem, but it'll make sod all difference as round here they'd elect a dead sheep provided it was wearing a blue rosette.

MrsMcColl · 28/11/2014 20:36

LibDem last time, but never again. Will vote Green in May. (I live in a v safe Labour seat. If I lived in a Tory/Labour marginal, I'd vote Labour.) Going by the response on this thread, the LibDems are fucked (and deserve to be)!

monkeytroubles · 28/11/2014 20:37

I voted Lib Dem and felt utterly betrayed as a result. There was no way I would have considered voting for them if I had known a deal with the Tories was on the cards. This time around I will vote Labour. I don't think much of Ed Miliband but I won't put my faith in the Lib Dems again. Even Ed Miliband as leader has to be better than another conservative government or, worse still, a Tory-UKIP coalition, the prospect of which genuinely frightens me.

PotatoesPastaAndBread · 28/11/2014 20:39

I'll vote green, not because of this but saw this coincidentally today

NotDavidTennant · 28/11/2014 20:42

I'm a Lib Dem voter in a Lib Dem seat held with a mediumish majority from Labour. Will be voting Labour.

RhiWrites · 28/11/2014 20:55

Voted lib dem in the last three elections. Never again.

Green next time.

LePetitMarseillais · 28/11/2014 20:57

Voted lib dem,never,ever again.

DaygloYellowLady · 28/11/2014 21:13

Wee quick name change just in case I out myself as I tend to be a bit outspoken about politics and I love my usual username.

I voted LibDem last time as they seemed to offer something better but they've just allowed themselves to be subsumed into the Tories and have done bugger all to ameliorate the effect of Gideon/Gove/Hunt. I used to really like them but I doubt I'd ever vote for them again now.

I could never vote Conservative, I find their ideology far too selfish and their policies too damaging to what I feel is important.

I have toyed with voting Labour, especially when I lived in London and there was less choice but I've some dealings with the party and found them to be a bit corrupt and more fond of power than democracy.

I'm really lucky to live in Scotland and have a credible alternative to the big Westminster 3 in the SNP and that's who I'll be voting for.

Tinkerball · 28/11/2014 21:16

I voted Lib Dem but never again. I'm not fully sure if voting for the SNP (I'm in Scotland)

beatricequimby · 28/11/2014 21:16

I voted lib dem in a safe labour seat last time. Now in a living in a lib dem seat. Can't imagine ever voting for them again. Will vote Labour although tempted by the Greens.

Tinkerball · 28/11/2014 21:17

That doesn't make sense - I meant to say I wasnt fully sure of hiring for SNP the last time but I am now!

MrsHathaway · 28/11/2014 21:17

FWIW people who claim to have had no idea the LD would make a pact with the Conservatives simply weren't listening in the days before voting. They made it very clear they would approach anyone who would get them on to the government bench.

Wincher · 28/11/2014 21:21

I voted lib dem and would vote for them again - but we now have a really excellent Labour MP and I will vote for her this time round.

Loula117 · 28/11/2014 21:21

Green

DaygloYellowLady · 28/11/2014 21:29

MrsHathaway - I knew there was a chance they'd go in with the Conservatives and when they did it was undoubtedly most democratic option. What's made me never want to vote for them again is how ineffectual they've been. I wanted them to act as a centralising factor on the Tories and instead we got one of the most right wing governments in memory.

Bunbaker · 28/11/2014 21:34

I would vote green, but we never have a green candidate, so I will vote labour.

becominglessofalurker · 28/11/2014 21:40

Lib Dem to Green but I am under no illusions that it is probably a wasted vote, I just don't want to vote for any of the others.

TooMuchRain · 28/11/2014 21:46

libdem to green probably (def not libdem but unsure who represents an anti-xenophobia liberal now)
