DD has a friend round, dd is 9 friend is 10.

I make a huge meal for 8 people and I erm, well, I, erm, splutter, eek, I demand/expect they do the washing up!

I cooked, you clean.

Isn't that what friends and family do for the cook? Or have I lived in a very rude parallel universe all these years?

As a kid I always offered to wipe or put away, I wouldn't have dreamed of not speaking up (whilst hoping to be told 'no').

What happened to the geneset that means kids can't wash up these days?
