Sorry its a sun link, was put on FB by my cousin who loves to froth about crap like this.

www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/6095099/Sir-Bob-Adele-didnt-answer-my-calls-shes-doing-nothing.html

Adele is perfectly within her rights to not get involved if she doesnt want to, and it was not right that he made an issue of it. She didnt have to return their calls, she didnt have to get involved, she didnt have to do a damn thing!

AIBU to think that he had no right to say this, unless of course he is going to "name and shame" every single other british artist that didnt join in?

YANBU

Patrickstarisabadbellend · 16/11/2014 18:47

Geldof is a Thundercunt. He won't get a penny from me.

meglet · 16/11/2014 18:47

yanbu.

ApocalypseThen · 16/11/2014 18:49

She's right to not become involved in this horrific car crash. He's a moany, self righteous old git though, so of course he's going to make a song and dance of it.

RyanAirVeteran · 16/11/2014 18:49

Manners cost nowt, she could have politely declined.

CatsCantTwerk · 16/11/2014 18:50

Yabu. It is the sun for a start and secondly there is only a snippet of what Bob said.

Honeydragon · 16/11/2014 18:51

"diva no show" Hmm

Speaking of divas how come Bonos doing it again? Has he not sang all the lines yet?

Bogeyface · 16/11/2014 18:51

I did mention that it was the Sun....

But the fact that he said anything at all is what I take issue with. Unless he was going to mention every other artist that didnt take part (and there are a lot, that room is hardly packed) then why single her out?

OP posts:
Lagoonablue · 16/11/2014 18:51

She's probably too busy complaining about having to pay her taxes.....

SassySugarCane · 16/11/2014 18:51

He's an arse, who is he to shame someone for having done nothing wrong. He did the same with Morrissey 30 years ago didn't he?

GnomeDePlume · 16/11/2014 18:52

First time around he had better manners and didnt name anyone who didnt choose to be involved. This time around he seems to have forgotten all of that.

Bogeyface · 16/11/2014 18:52

Honey I think he insists that the "Tonight thank God its them..." line is always sung by him. Hmm As you say, Diva!

AuntieStella · 16/11/2014 18:52

He probably didn't volunteer info, and wouldn't have said it like that.

Imagine instead a conversation along the lines of:

journo "who's singing then?"
Bob (reels off list of names)
"What about Adele?"
"Unfortunately not. We tried to track her down but couldn't get it sorted in time"

OwlCapone · 16/11/2014 18:56

But the fact that he said anything at all is what I take issue with.

I bet they have taken a small part of the conversation and written the story to make it sound how they wanted it to.

Carriemac · 16/11/2014 18:57

Oh FFS leave him alone. He is nice guy with a social conscience. He was just answering a question forma journalist. Adele's business if she does not want to take part.

CatsCantTwerk · 16/11/2014 18:57

I am pretty sure he did not 'name and shame' Adele.

He would have been asked questions and answered them. If he was asked if Adele was taking part and he answered 'Adele is doing nothing she didn't even reply to our call' That is his opinion on the situation. He hasn't slagged her off or anything like that Confused

Heels99 · 16/11/2014 18:57

You have no idea who said what. Yab buffoons to believe all you read in the sun. Get yourselves a life!

Billabong21 · 16/11/2014 18:57

I was unlucky to check him in for a flight once. He was VILE, RUDE and NASTY to me. Hateful man.

Lagoonablue · 16/11/2014 18:57

Saw a bit of news of the slebs arriving for the recording. All looking styled and slick. Contrast that with the original. They all looked wrecked. Bananarama looked like they'd been up all night. Bleary eyes and messy hair. Would never happen now.

scousadelic · 16/11/2014 18:58

I think that is rather nasty of him to say this. Nobody should be forced to take part and we don't know anything about her work or home situation that she may have considered before deciding.

She is perfectly entitled to refuse and he should have the good grace to accept that without trying to show her up

CatsCantTwerk · 16/11/2014 18:58

x post AuntieStella said it much better than me.

I agree, trying to shame her into doing something she doesnt want to do is rude. He should have accepted her answer with grace. People support charity in different ways.

Brittabot · 16/11/2014 19:07

As she objects to paying her own taxes, I don't think of her as a particularly charitable individual anyway.

Serendipity30 · 16/11/2014 19:07

I have an issue with him making a living out of Live Aid generally.
