Romeo Beckham gets £45 grand for a days work.

How much does this family need. Burberry have paid 12 year old Romeo £45.000 for one days work modeling. I don't wear Burberry myself but if I did that would probably put me off ever buying it again. How far will this family go for publicity and money. Small change to them though. But isn't there something wrong when a 12 year old gets in one day what it might take most of us a year or two to earn?

There is no real difference between him modelling for Burberry or modelling for the Next directory. The only difference is that Burberry are bonkers enough to pay £45k.

Bonkers? Hardly. I doubt they just plucked that figure out of thin air.

Pollyteacakes · 12/11/2014 20:11

ourbaby So who are you "jealous" of. Just think of someone you don't like, cos that's the only reason for dislike according to you isn't it. Apart from that I hate nasty judgemental people like you.

Well that was probably why she was named 'posh' Spice, LePetit. But really, she wasn't.

RabbitOfNegativeEuphoria · 12/11/2014 20:12

OP - your posts in this thread have been extremely judgemental. Also nasty.

FreudiansSlipper · 12/11/2014 20:12

And that boy is amazing looking, he's going to be breaking hearts all over the place in a few years

what an odd thing to say about a child Confused

RabbitOfNegativeEuphoria · 12/11/2014 20:14

That's why I don't like child modelling to be honest. But if it is allowed, and it is, then the kids should be paid.

Southeastdweller · 12/11/2014 20:14

It's nothing to do with them wanting more money. The Beckhams are obsessed with publicity and building their brand and this is a good way to do both.

LePetitMarseillais · 12/11/2014 20:15

I hate the whole celeb hypocrisy thing.

MNers jump on any child modelling thread- unless it's re the Beckhams.

MNers also rip the likes of KP to bits for using the media to get on and further her career- unlike the Beckhams.

Sorry but compared to nurses, teachers etc they don't work hard and enjoy chauffeurs, chefs, nannies, private schools, luxury homes, first class travel etc to boot.

This kind of celeb pedestal thing is kind of unsavoury.

Bowlersarm · 12/11/2014 20:15

I don't think it's an odd thing to say. People have said it forever (admittedly it's normally elderly people)

Sparklingbrook · 12/11/2014 20:15

I agree Freudian. I see an awful lot of 12 year old boys and it would be weird to think about their 'looks' as such.
I am not how a child could be 'amazing looking'. Confused

Sparklingbrook · 12/11/2014 20:15
  • not sure
LePetitMarseillais · 12/11/2014 20:16

Bowlers she didn't come from nothing.

ArcheryAnnie · 12/11/2014 20:16

He might have been paid £45k for a day's work, but he hasn't earned it.

KimHollywood · 12/11/2014 20:22

Sorry but compared to nurses, teachers etc they don't work hard and enjoy chauffeurs, chefs, nannies, private schools, luxury homes, first class travel etc to boot

Are you a nurse or a teacher? Have you done the same job as the any of the Beckhams?

How can you compare?

Southeastdweller · 12/11/2014 20:26

I don't think it's weird at all to think about a 12 year old looks. He is amazing looking. Nothing wrong in saying that Confused

KimHollywood · 12/11/2014 20:26

Some seem to be really trying to make the comment "amazing looking" sound like something a pedophile would say. Now thats just wrong.

furcoatbigknickers · 12/11/2014 20:27

Good for him

FreudiansSlipper · 12/11/2014 20:27

it was the breaking hearts

yes i think that is an odd thing to say about children along with calling children sexy

TSSDNCOP · 12/11/2014 20:31

They do work they enjoy, and as a business employ a whole heap of people.

The choice of business might not be to everyone's taste, but if you had a choice wouldn't you like to do something you love?

LePetitMarseillais · 12/11/2014 20:31

You're seriously suggesting the Beckhams work harder than teachers or nurses.Grin

Travelling round first class to promote a few dresses whilst my PA,nanny, chef, chauffeur, cleaners, private schools, multiple homes, first class travel iron out all vestiges of real life doesn't constitute hard work in my book.

Dragging yourself into school for 7.30/8.00 through wind and rain in a clapped out old car 5 days a week to teach challenging children during a 10 hour day which is followed by work at home 7 days a week, childcare pick ups, stress and delivering children to childcare, buying food, cooking, cleaning, feeding, doing the rush hour commute etc,etc- now that I'll wager is hard work.

Sparklingbrook · 12/11/2014 20:32

But how is he any more 'amazing looking' than any other 12 year old boy? I don't get it. He just looks like all the other boys I see on a Saturday morning at junior footy.

nihatsgirl · 12/11/2014 20:32

Well, if this thread achieved anything, it made me look up the ad, which put a smile on my face. I am happy how he seems to have turned out so well.

Good on him. I won't go seeking it, but I know I would not turn the money down either.

LePetitMarseillais · 12/11/2014 20:33

My 11 year olds would look lovely in Burberry raincoats, good lighting, the best haircuts and make up.

KimHollywood · 12/11/2014 20:35

No I'm not saying that. I'm not a nurse, I'm not a teacher, I'm not a Beckham. I therefore do not know first hand how hard any of them work.

Who am I to deem who works harder than someone else? Who is anyone to do that?

Sparklingbrook · 12/11/2014 20:36

Those trenchcoat/mac things are £595 each. don't all rush at once.
