That Puxton Park don't allow single adults in case they are pedophiles?

So a Single Adult can't go visit the falconry display incase they are a pedophile and the park is openly justifying their stance. Disgusting.

They do tgat at Gulliversland in Milton Keynes, Adults can't go on their own unless they are with a child.

What's the points adult membership card, surely it should a child membership card with the allowance of one adult.

Surely Disneyland is different - this place has stuff that is basically for under sevens, so why would you go as an adult when you can't use anything or go on any of the rides?

Are childless couples also banned? Is the butcher, farm shop and restaurant included in the ban?

Disneyworld is for under 7s?? Is it? It's not somewhere I would go on honeymoon, that strikes me as bizarre, but I don't think the USA ones are for children only

Assuming you and DH didn't honeymoon separately, you would have been able to go bonkers. This only refers to single adults.

Somebody could be there with their own children and also be a paedophile. Just cos there are no single, childless people there doesn't necessarily make children safe.

Areo Disney aren't dumb they have a massive following of adults plus they know single people are more likely to have spare cash than families.

youareall have you ever been to Disney a world? Most of their rides are thrill rides not for young children and Epcot is a brilliant science themed park and Animal Kingdim is a safari park. There is lots for adults to do amd they are made welcome.

Responsibility for the safety of children ultimately lies with the parents/carers. You have to watch them the whole time unless you are confident they fully understand stranger danger. What's next? Single men/women or childless couples banned from swimming pools, shopping centres, Toys r us?

goog yes I did read the artical the man in question was topped from entering to visit the falconry when he had already visited with his grandchildren.
You are only allowed to visit the falconry with notice needing to be given in advance. One can only assume it is so they can have you under guard in case you dare glimpse at a child.

Single adults aren't allowed into the Princess Diana playground in London either. My husband and I took our son there in the summer and my BIL was meeting us there but couldn't get in because he was a little late and we had gone on in.

mmgirish I've visited that park many a times. I can actually understand it for a playground solely built for children but an amusement park that sells adult membership cards and has a number of attractions is over kill.

I'm not saying it's a sensible policy, I'm just saying that the Fail like to get people hysterical over nothing.

The park themselves have said they will review the policy once the hysteria has died down.

This was being discussed on The Wright Stuff this morning. The verdict of the panel was that it's ludicrous, for various reasons, among which were:-there's no way a child could be taken from its parents, there's only one exit, people should be entitled to go to parks on their own without being viewed as paedophiles, Ian Brady would not have been allowed in, but if he was with Myra Hindley he would, and the vast majority of child sexual abuse happens within the child's home.

Personally, I disagree with the rule.

Are the places doing this all things where you have to pay to enter at all? Because if not, and even if somewhere ONLY had children's rides and nothing else, the "single adult" could be looking for a public toilet, asking for directions, handing in their CV, or planning to meet up with their family when they get there!

To be fair to the Daily Fail this started out as a local story, but I believe the Fail own our local newspaper so it's probably stemmed from there

I've been to puxton park a few times and it is NOT somewhere you'd want to go without children. They've said adults can see the falconry display and you can get in the shop, cafe etc without going into the Park bit, so they've covered the bits that might genuinely be of interest to adults.

So actually, I agree that any lone adult wanting to go into puxton park (into the main childrens bit) may not have good intentions. Obviously if you're meeting someone there etc that's a bit different

kits they man involved was trying to get into the falconry amd was denied. So they seem unclear on this policy either adults can or can't acress that part of the part freely or they need to make an appointment in advance.
If adults aren't allowed to use all the facilities why are they allowed to hold a membership card? That to me is misleading.

Miaow I agree its sad that I today's world a man alone in park is seen as a danger not someone enjoying a park. I love to walk and often visit country parks as a woman no one gives me a second glance but I've seen men glared at and children ushered away from benches if a man dares to rest his legs.
