Since we've had the recent influx of (anti)feminist threads appearing I've noticed that anytime an issue arises that might put males at a disadvantage they are dismissed with this bloody belittling term and its really starting to grate on me now.

I understand that in most peoples eyes feminism is about equality but it seems that some are intent on turning it into a war between women and men and being just as disrespectful to males as they complain that males are to females.

I'm not denying in anyway that feminism is a great thing or that women haven't been at a disadvantage forever but I don't see how this attitude helps the cause.

I have a son and a daughter and I want them both to have a respect for people regardless of gender!

If someone who was habitually discriminated against by white people and White dominated society in general said that to me I would know what they meant, think they had a point, and not think it was my place to educate them about their own experience

There are plenty of adequate words to deal with any individual who might want to distort or derail a thread, without needing to use condescending terms that actually imply some kind of slur on an entire gender.

who are my " mates" then? As it happens I just don't like your attitude on this thread particularly, which has led me to engage with you, that's ok isn't it?? And I don't use the term menz anyway fyi.

I don't know TheCow any more than I know you Muddy, but I have a feeling who I'd prefer to be trapped in a lift with.
