"Hell to the no"

"Totes"

"Amazeballs"

(the last two combined)

"Chillax"

"My bad"

"Cray cray"

Surely nobody over the age of 15 should use these words in a serious context (even in a joking context if I'm totally honest)

I have this week heard them all used at work by professional, otherwise intelligent people. Please don't tell me it's me that wants to stuff the nearest bit of junk mail into their pie hold every time they speak like this.

I had to Google it: Famalam means 'family, close friend' according to urban dictionary... as in "what's up wit cha famalams?".

The abbreviated 'Fam' is also acceptable I understand.....

Oooo, I know- bless. I do get a bit unnecessary when confronted with that usually aimed at small children, old people and people with disabilities who do something amazing, like walking and talking combined with head tilt and an aww.

BigPawsBrown · 26/10/2014 23:57

Someone at my work says "the reprographic bods". Like they are a different species Hmm. So patronising.

Sleepyfergus · 27/10/2014 05:52

I've not read the whole post, but has 'bestie' (for best friend) been mentioned?

Hate it.

Jessicahyde85 · 27/10/2014 06:07

Thumbscrewswitch · 27/10/2014 06:45

YANBU, not one little teensy bit. Wink

I loathe them all. And many of the others on this largely unread for reasons of maintaining sanity thread.

But I will occasionally use innit tho'. Halloween Grin

Fuckerysmuckeryboilsnspornery · 27/10/2014 07:47

Yeah me, dolittle.
I would like to unreservedly apologise to everyone who knew me then for the use of 60s and 70s superlatives and slang. I was a child I was an annoying idiot

AlbaGuBrath · 27/10/2014 07:48

The whole pony thing is to make it sound "classy to the clients" if you add tail in it apparently conjures imagines of well... A pony or horses arse quite frankly. The word ponytail was banned in our salon. So... Naturally I tried and failed to get away with using it and soon joined the enemy in their world of ponys. The shame Blush

Colleague recently put an album on facebook called HOLIBOBS!!! Complete with multiple bikini selfies, as in the 'on a sunlounger taking a photo of your own body' type. I always knew she was a self absorbed twat but this just confirms it.

ovaryhill · 27/10/2014 08:29

I've also seen apolibobs instead of apologies......

ovaryhill · 27/10/2014 08:32

Also the 'feeling blessed' nonsense on facebook, I swear one of these days I'm going put 'just had massive shit, feeling blessed'

AlbaGuBrath · 27/10/2014 08:32

Apolibobs? I fear I would punch whoever said that to me in the face. Apology not accepted!
