"Hell to the no"

"Totes"

"Amazeballs"

(the last two combined)

"Chillax"

"My bad"

"Cray cray"

Surely nobody over the age of 15 should use these words in a serious context (even in a joking context if I'm totally honest)

I have this week heard them all used at work by professional, otherwise intelligent people. Please don't tell me it's me that wants to stuff the nearest bit of junk mail into their pie hold every time they speak like this.

I can't believe I've done that, kids keep asking what I'm laughing at!

AlbaGuBrath · 27/10/2014 09:57

I want to be your FB friend. You sound way more fun that the endless selfie posting, I love me who do you love friends that I have seemed to acquire on my FB Hmm

It's so annoying to meet someone, hit it off, think they are awesome and become good friends with them to then facebook friend them and find out that actually they are a bit of a dick Grin (I love my friends really!)

Your more than welcome to be my facebook friend alba! Although I am quite fond of a heavily photoshopped
Selfie on occasion !

nannynoss · 27/10/2014 11:08

The odd selfie is fine, we are all guilty of that. What about the selfies every. day. which are exactly the same, but just a different caption each day. 'I'm on safari!' yet the picture is just of their face. You may as well be sat on the loo.

Ovary, you sound way better than half of my friends list too, well done!

summersanta · 27/10/2014 11:45

Loving this tread ~ obvs....

summersanta · 27/10/2014 11:45

Thread Shock

ovaryhill · 27/10/2014 12:02

My friend Dave has commented 'congratulations' Grin

ItIsSmallerOnTheOutside · 27/10/2014 12:04

I used to work with a guy who said totes and amazeballs. He pretended he was being ironic but it wasn't. I told him that I hated him a lot. I'm glad I don't work with him anymore as I think my blood would have fully evaporated by now.

ovaryhill · 27/10/2014 12:06

Trying to think what to put next, maybe a selfie of my big toe? Or am I taking it too far? .....

Said ironically I don't mind things in the OP.

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 27/10/2014 13:36

Drives me mad

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 27/10/2014 13:37

ovary that's brilliant Grin

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 27/10/2014 13:41

Did you hashtag aswell? #biglog #andrex #giveitafewminutes

Thumbscrewswitch · 27/10/2014 13:41

Ovary - I like your style!
Selfie - hmm, maybe your hand rather than your face?

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 27/10/2014 13:52

Ovary could carry on the theme and take a selfie in an unexpected place, connected to her status. #grosstothemax

What about 'laters'? Does anybody say that except ironically now?

VoyagerII · 27/10/2014 13:52

"Apolibobs" brilliant! It's the ultimate not-very-sincere apology, has amazing sarcasm potential.

ovaryhill · 27/10/2014 13:55

Mrs jolly that's brilliant! I wish I'd thought of the hashtags

spamanderson · 27/10/2014 13:58

Lol makes me want to fly into a rage and physically hurt the offender. Just one of those 'words' I really cannot stand!

I will admit to saying 'innit' 'fo shizzle' 'iz' and alike in a purely ironic way when I feel the need to put on an accent. Normally a bit street as I am the least street person, like ever.

ovaryhill · 27/10/2014 14:05

Mr jolly, sorry! I've gone back and added the hashtags! Grin I wish I could friend you all to see it!

SconeRhymesWithGone · 27/10/2014 16:07

What about "hack" for solution or tip? MNHQ seems to be particularly fond of it. I had to google to find out what it meant.

AlbaGuBrath · 27/10/2014 16:24

Ovary - I am in awe of you. Grin

Ok so I have two jobs, one is wanky, beanbag office and one is a school. Today I have actually heard a TEACHER, (could maybe have accepted it from a student) an actual fucking university educated employed to teach, real life teacher saying hashtag out loud. As part of a sentence. Out fucking loud. I despair Sad

ovaryhill · 27/10/2014 17:02

Oh oh oh! Just remembered! Saw some potato waffley type things in shop called mashtags in the shape of hashtags!!!

Kill me now

ovaryhill · 27/10/2014 17:14

Alba are you a fellow Scot by any chance?
