...and her absolutely grating, awful laugh Angry AIBU to want to fucking scream every time I hear it? Is it just me??? Time to switch off on a Sunday while she is on i feel.

OP posts:
Gatekeeper · 19/10/2014 18:41

yup...it's a horrible , HORRIBLE snickering laugh which has e reaching for the off swtich

rugbychick · 19/10/2014 18:47

I hate her laugh too. Michael Ball would be great. I like the rest of the presenters

Sizzlesthedog · 19/10/2014 19:05

Anyone hear chris Evans the other week have a pop at Steve wright, how he pre records his weekends

KillmeNow · 19/10/2014 19:06

I hate the way she laughs.

It makes me feel sick.

Luckily though I am usually busy when the radio is on and the volume is set so I dont have to actually listen to speech much and only 'tune in' to the songs.

OraProNobis · 19/10/2014 19:08

Oh good - I've been meaning to ask this for a while now. Why does Steve Wright continually get away with murdering songs by singing over them? Is it just me? Does everyone else think that is ok? It makes my piss boil so hard my eyeballs steam up!

KatyMac · 19/10/2014 19:09

Love the show - need a different presenter

R4roger · 19/10/2014 19:25

cannot stand Elaine the pain Paige

love michael ball's show

Quangle · 19/10/2014 19:35

Can't bear her. Or the real life Lynda Snells ringing in to get a plug for the Basingstoke Ladies Amateur Dramatics Society production of Phantom of the Opera.

queenmools · 19/10/2014 20:05

Oh my word I can't stand her, so smug. Steve Wright's Sunday love songs makes me want to smash the radio. All the callers say the same thing. ...."We've had our ups and downs but she's been a wonderful wife and dedicated mother to our two beautiful children" I always think bet he's shagging half the town.
I'd happily marry Simon Mayo though ( if we weren't both already married of course)

MsVestibule · 19/10/2014 20:21

Love the Michael Ball show, he's so warm and I really enjoy the mix of music. We have to tune to Radio 6 during Elaine Paige's show, or DH would throw the radio through the window.

Bogeyface · 19/10/2014 20:24

Michael Balls voice is just.....ooooooh! :o

CrumpleHornedSnorkack · 19/10/2014 20:26

Absolutely loathe Steve Wright on any day of the week. Love songs is obviously prerecorded as your dedications have to be the Thursday before.

Barry from Watford makes me want to shove a scalpel in my ear and fecking horoscopes, oh I have a massive life changing decision to make I know I'll ring some quack in a kaftan on an afternoon radio show FFS.

There's a reason I don't leave work before 5pm now

CrumpleHornedSnorkack · 19/10/2014 20:27

Simon Mayo on the other hand can do no wrong and not just because my three worders get read out a lot

Doilooklikeatourist · 19/10/2014 20:31

I don't like her awful laugh , or the Am Dram Lovies , but I do like the music , and yes Michael Ball would be so so much better as a presenter
Love Terry Wogan
Love Ken Bruce
Love Paul o Grady ( or poor old lady as we call him )
Cant bear Chris ( me me me ) Evans
Today programme on radio 4 for me tomorrow morning

beachyhead · 19/10/2014 20:35

Lisa Tarbucks laugh, anyone?

HappyYoni · 19/10/2014 20:38

Sorry, Wogan was at Thatchers funeral?? How did I not know that? Am genuinely a bit devastated :( I've always loved him, cried when he did the last breakfast show.
The things that really gets my goat about Evans show is that it's so painfully formulaic. I like his music and find him quite entertaining, but I just don't understand why he has to do exactly the same things, every single day,bat exactly the same time, with the same phrases, every day. Every time I hear the start to the mystery guest bit I want to punch the radio. Why not just mix it up a bit? Just a bit??

HappyYoni · 19/10/2014 20:40

It's like the wrote quite a good show once, and are just running with it, over and over again

victoryinthekitchen · 19/10/2014 20:42

Simon Mayo favourite in our house

queenmools · 19/10/2014 20:44

I love it that Panic by the Smiths ( hang the DJ etc) was written about Steve Wright.

MrsMook · 19/10/2014 20:51

It's a shame that Johnny Walker is sandwiched between the awfulness of Elaine Paige and Paul O'Grady. Yep. Dead pets are actually worse than break a leg lovies.

stubbornstains · 19/10/2014 20:57

queenmools that is simply the best music factoid* I have heard since learning that the lead rapper from Goldie Looking Chain lost his virginity in my friend's parents' toilet.

*See what I did there? (cheesy faux- American laugh) Grin

Liquoricelips · 19/10/2014 20:58

I think that Elaine Paige's laugh is so false. it used to be normal and has slipped into the gurgle gurgle it is now. I vote for Jodie Prenger too! She's ace.

stubbornstains · 19/10/2014 21:01

Does anybody else have a terror of waking up one night to find Elaine Paige leering at you from the wardrobe clutching a bloodied knife....and laughing that laugh?

bodhranbae · 19/10/2014 21:15

Sorry, Wogan was at Thatchers funeral??

Yup alongside Andrew Lloyd Webber and Jeremy Clarkson.
All my most loathed people (alive and dead) in one place.

joanofarchitrave · 19/10/2014 21:24

Couldn't care less how she votes but that laugh reminds me of the awful woman in The Tall Guy who Jeff Goldblum has an affair with and laughs a terrible fake humourless 'feminine' laugh as part of her seduction technique.

Surely they should try out Ruthie Henshall in the slot? Or get Neil Patrick Harris to do it LIVE from Noo York?
