I've name changed as posted this on FB too, I promise I don't work for ao.com Wink

I just nearly had a fire in my kitchen with a jacket potato being turned to charcoal by my newish microwave. Fortunately I went in before the end time but the house now stinks of smoke and the potato was literally incinerated inside (only in for 7 mins, pricked etc)

I called ao.com and they are sending me a new microwave TOMORROW! I think this is great customer service.

As someone who often complains when companies get things wrong, I thought it would be nice to post when someone gets it very right Smile

That's lovely!

Allice · 18/10/2014 19:18

Am about to order new electricals for the kitchen, was going to use John Lewis but will have a look at AO first.

Clutterbugsmum · 18/10/2014 19:19

They are very good.

I ordered a new cooker from them a couple of years ago and it stopped working after 20 days. They came out and checked it had a fault on the main electrical cable and they replaced it the same day although I was outside the 14 day distance selling laws.

They are also very quick with deliveries. My freezer broke one Sunday afternoon and we ordered a new one about 7pm and we had the new one by mid morning the next day.

AMillionNameChangesLater · 18/10/2014 19:20

I've used them a lot, admittedly a family member works there, but the service has been brilliant every time. And I'm not just saying that.
I love that they price match. So I got my ff even cheaper!

ChampagneTastes · 18/10/2014 19:21

I always use these guys, I think they're fantastic. On the ONE occasion there was a problem, they dealt with it brilliantly. Really good little company.

SnottyHankie · 18/10/2014 19:26

I have also used AO and agree that their customer service is excellent.

I ordered a new induction hob at 5.00pm on a Tuesday and it was delivered by 9.30am the following morning. I also received a phone call 30 mins prior to delivery to say they were on the way.

Their prices are also excellent.

I've never had a problem with any appliances I've bought from them so can't speak for their after sales service, but have no reason to think they'll be any different from pre-sales.

FruVikingessOla · 18/10/2014 19:26

When we re-vamped our kitchen a few years ago, AO was recommended by another MNer. I bought all of our new appliances from them. They are absolutely fabaroony!

Their service - from initial order, to delivery updates, to hourly delivery updates etc is absolutely second to none.

It's a fantastic company.

MustBeDueSomeBetterFeet · 18/10/2014 19:31

I've bought from them twice and been really impressed with speed of delivery, and reliability of goods.

What irks me is the hard sell afterwards for the (very expensive) extended warranty. Which normally comes as a call pretending to confirm delivery (yet again - 6 texts apparently weren't enough), leads to 20 mins of me trying to explain I am not interested, and them not understanding me!

Now I know this is going to happen, I can happily have some fun of my own with them!

SpottyTeacakes · 18/10/2014 19:36

I've also used them a few times and they've been excellent. I would always recommend them Smile

CPtart · 18/10/2014 19:42

I will pass all these comments onto DH. He works for them!

PeppermintCream · 18/10/2014 19:44

Completely agree. We bought a tumble dryer recently - fabulous service!

Sirzy · 18/10/2014 19:44

I refuse to use AO because of the pressure selling for warrenties for products. We complained about it twice after the third time that was it and we won't use them any more

ilovepowerhoop · 18/10/2014 19:47

we got our new washing machine from them and it was delivered by free next day delivery. They did phone to offer an extended warranty but I declined

annettec01 · 18/10/2014 19:49

They are great I bought a Samsung Eco bubble washer dryer and within a week I had Samsung repair guy out 3 times. Ao called me and arranged a new machine different type next day and got a letter from managing director apologising for faulty product.

RiojaHaze · 18/10/2014 19:51

I think they're brilliant and I always buy my white goods from them.

Not only is everything cheaper but re free delivery compared to Currys £40 makes it even better.

Potatopatato · 18/10/2014 19:51

sirzy I bought 3 products from them and didn't have any calls after sale about warranties? Was offered at the time of purchase said no and that was it. Maybe they've changed their policy?

Sirzy · 18/10/2014 19:55

Last time was only a few months back so I doubt it. Awful responses from the company too IMO. Certainly won't be using them again

WestEast · 18/10/2014 19:57

Got our washer/dryer from them, well priced and two lovely delivery men. They got coffee AND biscuits due to being so lovely Grin

adrieneswall · 18/10/2014 20:01

We ordered a freezer off them on Tuesday afternoon and it was delivered at 7am Wednesday morning.

Fantastic delivery service, however I really disliked the phone call pushing the warranty. I declined it and the guy on the phone got rather arsey.

idlefolly · 18/10/2014 20:01

I've used ao.com for my last two large item purchases and can't fault them for prices, variety and amazing customer service! They are so attentive!

Clutterbugsmum · 18/10/2014 20:01

CPtart

Could you also pass onto your DH a question for me.

My mum lives alone and has just had to buy a knew cooker, and had to use Curry's as they were the only company she could find who will disconnect and connect a electric oven. I and I can tell you it was one disaster after another.

ilovepowerhoop · 18/10/2014 20:02

what was the question?

ilovepowerhoop · 18/10/2014 20:04

looks like it depends on the postcode as to whether they would connect cookers

CPtart · 18/10/2014 20:10

Clutters- he believes AO would disconnect/reconnect new but there would be a charge, as there probably was with Currys?

TheCunnyFunt · 18/10/2014 20:10

I thought this thread was by me then and I'd just forgotten that I'd started it! :o

Our oven broke yesterday, we ordered a new one yesterday about 4pm and it arrived today :) free next day delivery! Fantastic. AND the oven was cheaper than anywhere else.
