To think the 'MN isn't what it used to be' threads, aren't what they used to be?

They used to be a bit sparkier somehow. And glossier. And had more snow.

This year's penis beaker is a webcam surely?

Well, this week's at least.

AnyFucker · 15/10/2014 00:28

Today has been a fucking doozie on MN

RonaldMcDonald · 15/10/2014 00:29

I haven't heard anyone say "having it off" since 1987.

Oh I wish that were the case. My Mum says it (generally when watching soaps, so not in public or anything too often), when she's here I go though quite a lot of brain bleach.

CallMeExhausted · 15/10/2014 02:20
Tardis

I blame Capaldi and Moffatt

ithoughtofitfirst · 15/10/2014 07:27

chipping absolute brain bleach situation. I get it when mine says 'two-timing'. Also generally when watching soaps.

ghostyslovesheep · 15/10/2014 07:34

Yes Callme - we should all try to be a little more Clara

oh and it was Gordons - naturally Grin

TooMuchCantBreathe · 15/10/2014 07:40

I was thinking, just the other day, we should have a 10 year round up of all the best "mn has changed" threads. It would be interesting to see the then and now. I seem to remember up roar about having more than 5 topics (before sub topics were a glint in hqs eye). Grin

The old threads were funnier

ArsenicChaseScream · 15/10/2014 07:50

**

Makes even less sense considering my brain missed the NC and asked the question anyway....

Can't read, can't think, what can I do? Sad

Mumsnet at its worst.

ExitPursuedByABear · 15/10/2014 08:16

I don't know who anybody is anymore.

ghostyslovesheep · 15/10/2014 08:17

all gin is magic juice Grin

I still love you Arsey

KikitheKitKat · 15/10/2014 08:44

I haven't read the whole thread but when I joined MN in 1899 we were far more respectful and I remember posting about my poor DS (5.7) getting upset about cleaning chimneys for a living, but someone (I think it may have been you Arsenic) bucked me up no end by pointing out how we were doing our best for good old Queen Victoria (bless her) and that DS should develop a stiff upper lip and pull his socks up. Sigh

ArsenicChaseScream · 15/10/2014 09:05

I don't know who anybody is anymore.

In what sense Exit?

and that DS should develop a stiff upper lip and pull his socks up.

Sounds like me Smile

I think I'm still me but I'll need to check with Matron.

ExitPursuedByABear · 15/10/2014 13:13

There are so few names that I recognise.

squoosh · 15/10/2014 13:31

I think people are still 'having it off', Chipping's mum is always at it apparently. 'Bonking' seems to have thankfully become extinct though.

happygirl87 · 15/10/2014 13:31

Have you tried meal planning OP? And definitely get a cleaner.

ithoughtofitfirst · 15/10/2014 13:43

People still bonk in Swansea

Amrapaali · 15/10/2014 13:48

I for one, am really pleased with the less glossier, less snow on 'em threads. Minimalist. That's what you should be aiming for. Dead twigs and...stuff.

And if we are pointing fingers, I blame hipster beards.

ChippingInLatteLover · 15/10/2014 13:53

Squoosh thankfully my Mum is only talking about other people & usually those in/on soaps Grin No amount of brain bleach would wipe out being told about her actually 'having it off' ...

ginslinger · 15/10/2014 15:35

I can only get 17 meals out of a chicken these days.

ErrolTheDragon · 15/10/2014 15:49

I put that down to advancing years.

TiggyD · 15/10/2014 15:51

Those threads used to be as big as Wagon Wheels.

I blame it on Hitler. During the war threads were made a lot smaller due to post rationing. I remember my Granny talking about post substitutes made from cardboard, swede and powdered opinions.
