I am having a shit week. My gallbladder is ruining my life, my boiler broke and the plumber can't come out for weeks, the washing machine is leaking, work is a pita and depressing me as always and to top it off my car engine is now being twatty and playing up.

I am ill, depressed and skint. It's also my birthday tomorrow and dp bought me a gorgeous beagle puppy as a surprise. He wants to go for dinner too. I am not in the mood, plus I can't fucking eat anything due to this bastarding gallbladder, so would be a waste of time, though I am very happy about the puppy. He says I shouldn't be so miserable on my birthday.

Aibuto just want to take the puppy to bed with me and stay there all night?

I like hamsters. They have great personalities. I had a whole series of them when I was a child.

I've had loads of Hamsters, my sister has 3 and is probably owner to the nuttiest Hamster I've ever known, honestly shes nuts.

Joker is very much go with the flow and didnt really care about being handled.

Beagles are ace. Actually, they are utter bastards but they are also ace. There is nothing better than stroking those gorgeous beagle ears.

There is currently a loudly snoring Beagle on the couch next to me...fantastic dogs. Fantastic - but get a good, heavy bin! Food whores doesn't come close!

It sounds like your DP is being insensitive to your needs and the puppy's, by suggesting going out when you are ill and leaving the puppy alone in a new house. Does he realise nights out are off the menu till the puppy has settled in? They need a lot of care, it's like getting someone a surprise baby! It has a significant impact on your lifestyle, I'd be annoyed and I absolutely love animals but if I'm going to be looking after one for about the next 15 years I'd want to prepare for it and pick them myself.

I'll add my puppy Noodle and ditto others who say you can't leave a puppy alone on its first evening to go out to dinner! Give the puppy a cuddle and then go to bed and leave DP to deal with the pup.

I love our beagle. Think people are being abit mean about beagles!

Happy birthday I adore my beagle, all puppies take work but are so much fun and in future years if we get any more dogs they too will be beagles, fun, gorgeous, cheeky and great with kids great pressie well done husband!
