My DC are well and hopefully don't get ill.

But is it ridiculous about these new guidelines.

Thats crazy. If you have young kids you get ill so much. Ive had 2 colds in 2 months.
Of course there is more possibility to catch something else on top when you struggle into work.
Though i always did go into work. Only time off was for an op.
But also most women will surely take time off to look after kids when they are ill and the women feels a bit off themself.

I listened to a news item on Radio 4 about this. The Dr being interviewed said it was just a guideline and parents were still in the best position to decide if their child was up to going to school. Interestingly the Dr was totally against having to get sick notes and said it was perfectly justifiable to get advice from a pharmacist or just use common sense before keeping a child off and that it was nonsense for a school to require proof of illness.

It does seem a waste of a drs time. When it would really onky be important if they are doing exams.
I cant see people keeping them off fir little reason except for holidaying. Maybe this is to make clear you might be questioned claiming the kid has CP say and keeping them off exactly 2 weeks
