Hi there. Posting for traffic..

If someone had unprotected sex 12 days ago, did a clear blue test today that says 'pregnant 1-2 weeks' ...is that possibly right.? So soon. If they may have ovulated the day of unprotected sex (very irregular period) I thought clear blue add a week for conception meaning they would date it at 3 weeks pregnant... Sorry. I'm confused

Thank you

When was your last period? If you had sex around the date you would have ovulated. You could be 1-2 weeks pregnant by now. I got a "2-3 weeks pregnant" BFP the day after my period was due.

Sorry, I don't think that's what you wanted to hear.

AlpacaLypse · 08/10/2014 23:19

I think you should visit a pharmacy tomorrow, ask to speak to pharmacist in private if it's all a bit busy, and go on from there. Flowers and

Brew

Is this you or your DD? (or someone else)

friendofsadgirl · 08/10/2014 23:26

uk.clearblue.com/clearblue-pregnancy-tests-range
This website tells you the accuracy of each clearblue test. I can't see any mention of adding a week..

Hope you get the answer that you want.

Sameolesameole · 08/10/2014 23:28

Thank you everyone. Yes, I have pcos..so on the date of unprotected sex, It had been approximately 4 weeks since my last period. I had slight cramp, but wondered if I may have been ovulating that day as my periods range between 4-6 week cycles. sometimes longer.

I'm thinking, if I ovulated that day, I presume could have conceived straight away? As result came up 1-2 weeks but it's been less than two weeks since unprotected sex... The clear blue info says it normally adds a week for conception. Just can't work out if they base that on a normal 28 day cycle - which mine rarely is.

Sorry if I'm not making sense right now
Thank you

Is it uncommon to get results so fast? I have tender breasts and need to pee more frequent. I've already got older children, but can't remember!!

ChippingInLatteLover · 08/10/2014 23:32

Oh love, I really don't know :( Have you got another one you can pee on first thing tomorrow?

Would it be a complete disaster if you are?

PrettyPictures92 · 08/10/2014 23:33

OP you've two threads about this and on your other thread you say it's a superdrug brand pg test and it's your friend who this is happening to. On this thread you're saying it's you that's going through it and it's clear blue? What one is correct?

You can get a positive test before your period, you're only classed as 4 weeks pregnant when you miss your next period as they take it from your last one. So yes it's possible to get a positive 12 days after having sex.

Sameolesameole · 08/10/2014 23:35

Sorry. Super drug first then clear blue after. Said friend as felt silly. But too nervous now to put up a front.
I guess timing now would be terrible...but only myself to blame

And those symptoms so early?

I'm just confused really. Prior to 12 days ago I had sex 5 weeks ago..but protected. Just seems so early to get symptoms and positive result

PrettyPictures92 · 08/10/2014 23:38

Ahh ok, you get some folk on here that just post crap like this for attending, it gets a bit wearing.

Congratulations? I really can't tell if you're happy to be pg or not, I've read your other thread, not sure whether to ask some personal questions based on it or not, but I hope you're doing ok. Much support sent your way Flowers

Sameolesameole · 08/10/2014 23:40

Thank you pretty. I think if you read other thread you may realise my worry :-( xxx

I do sameolesameole, it's a difficult one. Whatever happens, and whatever you decide to do, you'll get some fantastic support here. I've been there, done that and got the tshirt so i understand. If you need a chat feel free to inbox me, I'm off to bed now though. Gnight :)

PCOS can mess with your pg test results. It might say 2 weeks when really it's 6 weeks. (I know people will say it's impossible, but happened to me several times.)

I think the overriding point here is that you are pregnant. Cautious congrats from me, too, and a soothing Brew

You need to make a GP appointment! Or, alternatively, go to the chemist pronto and get the MAP. Best of luck Flowers

ChippingInLatteLover · 09/10/2014 00:00

I read your other post and I don't really understand why it's such a worry? Why would it be such a disaster - and if so - why didn't you get the MAP?

What age are your older DC?

ChippingInLatteLover · 09/10/2014 00:01

MAP is no use now!!!

GarlicOctopus · 09/10/2014 00:11

Oh, gosh, sorry :( I thought you could use it up to a month.

I can guess why the dates might be a worry. Thinking of you, Same.

Sameolesameole · 09/10/2014 00:19

Thank you again. Yes dates are a worry. I'm just little in disbelief to get symptoms and an early positive in less than two weeks.

Garlic, the M stands for morning, not month! Grin

OP when ttc I always tested from day 10 after ovulation, if I was pg I got a faint line by then, so I don't think it's surprising at all.

Sameolesameole · 09/10/2014 00:22

Iggi, did you get symptoms so early too?

OP posts:
Sameolesameole · 09/10/2014 00:23

My line on super drug test came up straight away, was dark and was tested in eve...
