I am totally prepared to be told iabu.

Tonight dp told me that he has planned to go to the TT with the lads for the full week instead of us having a family holiday! I have said fine but when he comes back he won't be coming home to me.

Apparently this makes me a control freak? We won't be having a family holiday at all just so he can prance about on some bloody motorbike

While he was chatting that pile of crape also told me I'm not to spout my republican crap to his Gran. Apparently it offends her?

She sits in MY house talking absolute gibberish about the royal family and how amazing they are but I'm not supposed to have an opinion.

Aibu to bury them all under my patio?

WTF is a TT weekend?

I'm a democrat... But English so I vote labour!

Erm.
Boys weekend instead of a family holiday?
Nope.

You say that it's YOUR house, who's money is he spending?

wheresthelight · 04/10/2014 23:23

would you like some help lifting the slabs?

Patrickstarisabadbellend · 04/10/2014 23:24

The TT is a motor biking thing.

Who the hell does he think he is telling you that you wont be having a family holiday so he can feck off on a boys holiday??

How long have you been with this bellend?

Humansatnav · 04/10/2014 23:26

He is a cockhead twatfaced knob. YADNBU

figgieroll · 04/10/2014 23:26

Totally unacceptable for the only holiday this year to be a lads week away and not a family one. Usually I'm very pro partners doing their own thing with friends but it shouldn't be at the expense of the one yearly family holiday

Patrickstarisabadbellend · 04/10/2014 23:28

18 years.

Like I've said to him he can go, I have no problem with that but if he does we're over.

I've just booked a week in Cornwall for me and the kids so he can go and blow a goat.

Normally I wouldn't be bothered but I refuse to forfeit a family holiday so he can piss around with his mates.

MrsMinton · 04/10/2014 23:32

I agree. Not the TT over a family holiday. My H would love to go one year but not if its that choice.

Patrickstarisabadbellend · 04/10/2014 23:34

I even said we could all go to the TT as a family but he said it's just for the lads.

OP posts:
PillForgettingIdiot · 04/10/2014 23:47

He is a complete fucknuckle.

BolshierAyraStark · 04/10/2014 23:50

Knob

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 04/10/2014 23:57

"Blow a goat" bwahahaha.
Arse of the first order.
I do tend to tune out some almost all relatives with knobbish beliefs. If it all goes tits up, I calmly say "I'm sorry I disagree" you are spouting drivel

LadyLuck10 · 04/10/2014 23:58

'The lads' what is he 18? And why did he tell you rather than discuss it with you like an adult in a marriage.

Patrickstarisabadbellend · 05/10/2014 00:01

He's 36 and he's just bought his first bike. He sold the family car to buy this bike too!

We had to lend a car off a family member for months until we could afford to buy a new one.

He's just told me I'm only being funny because I'm jealous Hmm

Yeah I'm proper jealous because I'm not going to be sat in a field for a week watching bikes going past. What a tit.

ScrambledSmegs · 05/10/2014 00:03

He's a festering turd of a man and I wouldn't want him in my house.

YANBU.

JudysPriest · 05/10/2014 00:03

You sound awesome OP. Handling this like a champ.

ScrambledSmegs · 05/10/2014 00:04

He sold the family car to buy this bike.

Fucking hell. Why did you not kick him out there and then?

Patrickstarisabadbellend · 05/10/2014 00:05

It's his car and I don't drive.

OP posts:
Patilla · 05/10/2014 00:06

Yup he is a twat.

You on the other hand sound like a legend.

I'm happy to make the cups of tea, or chill the wine while you sort out the patio.

Patrickstarisabadbellend · 05/10/2014 00:09

Well if he thinks I'm going to be sat at home like an idiot while he swans about with his mates he can think again.

Pftt the TT over a beach? I think he's lost the small bit of sense he had.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 05/10/2014 00:11

36 is a bit young for a midlife crises. Although I do know a family who have never, ever had a family holiday. But the Dad goes to the TT every year. You are not alone OP.
