to really miss Matt Smith's Doctor?

Can't warm to this one at all :-(

I like capaldi. Surprisingly so - matt smith got on my tits so I stopped watching properly.
I loved David Tennant and eccleston although the latter faded into the mists once DT came along.

I'm glad there's no massive back story - does my head in; if you miss one episode then it is hard to catch up!

I love Capaldi! He's hilarious, grumpy and reminds me of some of the doctors back in the day. Can't stand what they've done with Clara though. Loved the impossible girl stuff but now she's pretty much just getting on my wick every episode. Feels like all of her back story is gone. And IMO every episode it just seems like the writers have a point to make and it comes across really unnaturally. Won't stop watching though!

The problem is sooooo not Capaldi, he's brilliant, the problem is the disgraceful writing and rip off plots. Utterly derivative carbon copies & mash ups of previous fan favourite or Christmas episodes. Appalling. Moffat has a lot to answer for and is at risk of wrecking the audience figures completely.

Wasn't the Clara/ows in thing explained when Clara jumped into that time thingy and got flung all through time as loads of Clara's? All through the doctor's timeline?

I can't say I love Clara. I don't know why she keeps getting pissed off with the doctor. They don't seem to have much of a bond, when the doctor gets all protective or proud it seems a bit forced.

I Loved PC as Evil Cardinal Thing in the Musketeers but I can't bear him in this, I hate Clara as well. I've pretty much stopped watching.

Love PC. Hated Matt Smith and all that Amy stuff. Like Clara too and some of these episodes have been really good.

But that's the thing, none of this series has been original or very good at all. Any fan who's seen any of the Tennant or Smith episodes will be able to tell you which episode Moffat has ripped off each time. It's utterly derivative and insulting both to fans and Capaldi's abilities.

The first capaldi episode had an appalling script a bit like dinosaurs on a spaceship. The rest have been better, even robin Hood which had some awkward cheesy moments.

I much prefer capaldi to smith and put him on a par with Tennant. I found Ecclestone too clumsy in the role.

I hadn't realised how angry I am about it! I watch an episode and love it but the second the credits roll I just think 'You copy cat bastard, Moffat!' and all my enjoyment is spoiled.

YABU. I didn't like Matt Smith. He gabbled his lines so I couldn't make out what he was saying half the time.

I am finding Dr Who far less interesting these days because the stories are so far fetched and rely too much on special effects rather than a good plot.

YANBU, I can't get along with the present one either. He's so grumpy it puts me off.

For me DAVID TENNANT all the way......

At the time I loved DT in a carnal way but rewatching old episodes he was just too egotistical and CE was very wooden IMO. Did enjoy watching MS (still my favourite) but PC portrays the confused, grumpy old man brilliantly. As others have said, it's the writing which is an issue in this series.

I think PC is settling in nicely, it's the scripts that are awful. Very weak, especially the Robin Hood one.

Yabu. Capaldi is a great anti-hero and I'm really enjoying him. Also, I have firmly pitched my tent in the Tennant camp. Smith was insipid.

Urghh no, David Tennant was fab but could never warm to Matt Smith.

Am a little worried they've chosen PC as he's old enough for RiverSong, unlike the boy MS, and she's going to make a Cheshire Cat return in the last episode.

I think that DC is quite good, but the writers need to stop turning it in to a soap opera.

I've only seen the first and the school one and the scripts for both were so awful it's impossible to judge PC.

In the first one Clara just seemed to be there to wear a pretty period dress and fancy hairdo, very irritating.

I love peter capaldi! He makes me all...tingly! I know I know TMI.

He looks a bit like my husband ( but without the long hair).

I hated the last one- we called him potato face. I couldn't watch Dr Who with him in it. I am from the Patrick Troughton times onwards fan..... But potato face stopped me in my tracks!
