To think Claudia Winkleman looks shocking on SCD.

She looks like she has a pink towel wrapped around her.

In fact she actually looks ill.

Well I'm a similar age and don't feel middle aged either.

I was trying to add gravitas to an otherwise weak response Grin

It is - therefore - wonderful to see women not in their 20s mainline presenting.

Hope that's better. I actually think Claudia looks fine

whatsonyourplate · 27/09/2014 22:16

I thought the problem last night was she seemed to have her arms glued to her sides to stop her dress falling down, plus there was something odd going on with her fringe. She looked much more comfortable tonight. And they said it was live tonight so not all filmed on the same night.

FoxSticks · 27/09/2014 22:19

Much better Rooners Grin

If you look at all of the dancers and celebs none of them are that tantastic. Even Scott Mills who is famed for his tan looks pretty normal. Maybe Strictly are just reflecting the trend of moving away from very dark fake tans. I think she looked great both nights.

LePetitPrince · 27/09/2014 22:24

I think you're all mad! Claudia looked great and was hilarious, end of.

Maisyblue · 27/09/2014 22:31

I can't see the point in 2 presenters, typical spendthrift BBC.

bigbuttons · 27/09/2014 22:38

I've only seen her on the radio times and I thought she looked like a man in drag.

Haffdonga · 27/09/2014 23:03

I thought the double act worked well , great that at last we have another female presenting pair, although Claud clearly provided the spark and humour in the duo. ( Good haffdonga - it's ok to think about their presenting skills )

AND
I thought that Claudia looked far more gaunt and frail than when I last saw her on TV. The dress appeared to be far too big for her as if she had recently lost a lot of weight. ( Bad Haffdonga: it's not OK to notice anybody's physical appearance despite them being on prime time TV )

In fact she looked so changed that even dh and both my teenaged dss commented. And these are people who didn't notice for a week when I came home having had all my hair chopped off and a new colour. Confused

Jellyrollgumdrop · 27/09/2014 23:18

Claudia does look different but think it's to do with a change of hair/fringe style...

nooddsocksforme · 27/09/2014 23:26

I thought she looked much better tonight -she needs the full fringe and her dress was gorgeous. agree that she seems much more natural than tess and thank god they god rid of brucie

Why can't we stop deconstructing women based on appearance?

FFS.

what she said

Username12345 · 27/09/2014 23:32

She is slimmer now too much so? Is it me or does she look amazing and natural here?

MaryBerrysLostCherry · 27/09/2014 23:50

I thought she looked a little uncomfortable which I put down to being pushed into an outfit which isn't her plus the biggest night of her professional life. Tonight she looked ace. I think she looks younger with the lighter eyes and fringe and we see how slight she is when her flesh is out, which she clearly doesn't like. Hope SCD listen to her and dress Claud like Claud not Tess light. Love her to the bones.

squoosh · 27/09/2014 23:57

I like her.

Like her wit, like her style, just wish she'd ditch the fake tan.

WilburIsSomePig · 28/09/2014 07:32

This isn't a nice thread at all.

Yes the OP says in her first post that she thinks CW looks unwell but before that she made a comment about what she was wearing. The thread title says she looks 'shocking' not unwell. So yep, I think this is a bitchy thread and unneccesary.

RosieProbert · 28/09/2014 07:36

I would like to add that I love her presenting style. She's so naturally funny. I think she's shining next to Tess who seems rather 'forced'.

R4roger · 28/09/2014 07:40

she was so funny talking to Thom about kissing his partner, and her being a bridesmaid, they looked quite awkward about it Grin
Against my better judgement I liked her.

Rivercam · 28/09/2014 18:15

She looked a lot more relaxed in the second show, and I loved what she was wearing.

Vintagejazz · 29/09/2014 10:11

I thought she looked very ordinary on Friday night and had lost her slightly quirky look. Thankfully she went back to her old hair style on Saturday which suits her much better.

Maisyblue · 29/09/2014 11:21

Now if the BBC were to employ women presenters for prime time TV on their talent rather than their looks, size and relative youth........

Catsmamma · 29/09/2014 11:25

i thought she looked ridiculous on the first programme... random tossy hair, not her makeup style at all and the pink frock was not a good fit at all

second programme...much more real Claude, I think all the makeup ladies must have been kept busy with the celebs and CW must have got her hands on her own makeup bag and hair brush.

i do wish she would stand still though....all her swaying distracts me!
