Thank you for making me feel normal. I just logged on to see if anyone else cried...

I cried when they got to school. And felt like a rubbish mum as I would have been shouting over the ruined cakes. And wondered if there's something wrong with my kids as they don't just skip on up to their bedrooms if I tell them they need some time out. This thread has made me laugh though.

Didn't have time yesterday, so watched the first day at school one this afternoon... I didn't cry, but definitely had a lump in my throat
DS (4.10) said (with tears in his eyes), 'I'm going to miss Topsy and Tim while they are at school'... I think he empathised a little too much with the parents!
I was a bit at Dad coming home to take them, especially when he said 'I couldn't miss taking you on your first day!'... Felt a bit like my dc would be wondering why their daddy felt like he could miss their first day DH is an equally devoted father, btw, he just can't randomly walk out of work just because he feels like it!

Oh, and how did Joy manage to make more fuss about the toothpaste on jumpers than she did about chucking fancy cupcakes on the floor?!
