The poor darlings are going to be about 27 by the time they start at this rate Hmm

DS loves this! He's 6 and watches it on iplayer all the time.

ContactIssue · 25/09/2014 13:56

Rabbit, I remember that episode. She hadn't even discussed it with Dad before announcing that she was going away for a week. Surely they'd have had to make some proper plans? Very bad communication.

Then dad said 'if I have to look after T&T, then who will look after ME!?' It's little wonder the programme is accused of sexism.

Oh no, it's not really the end of T&T is it? DD loves them completely and utterly.

GatoradeMeBitch · 25/09/2014 16:12

They started school back in the 70s. I know, I read the book! Their kids should be starting school about now!

saltnpepa · 25/09/2014 16:51

But are they an actual real life family? They all look so alike.

Iggly · 25/09/2014 16:59

Er no they aren't and no they don't. Not to me anyway!

WhispersOfWickedness · 25/09/2014 17:26

Watching it now. What's the betting I now find trails of blocks round the house so the dc don't 'get lost'? Hmm

I'm also watching it now, the saccharine is so overpowering I feel a bit queasy.
Why do they love bloody tony welsh so much?! And why do they always say his full name!!!

MamOfTwo · 25/09/2014 17:30

Hang on, did I miss something? We didn't even see them at sodding school in the episode entitled 'Visiting School'! I feel cheated.

Pico2 · 25/09/2014 17:41

They don't really cover all bases having one anxious about school and one ok with it if the solution is "don't worry, you'll have each other at school". How many children are twins and in the same class at school?

misstiredbuthappy · 25/09/2014 17:46

My dd loves it and says every episode are they moving again are they going to a new school again Grin and why are they so well beheved you dont once see them have a bit of a strop Hmm

furcoatbigknickers · 25/09/2014 17:47

My little dcs love TT, me and DH like taking the piss enjoy it too.

del2929 · 25/09/2014 19:48

well...im laughing my head off reading all these hilarious comments!!! (smile)

so funny.x

WhispersOfWickedness · 25/09/2014 19:49

That's true, Pico, Joy (according to IMDB, not Joyce) hadn't given them that handy bit of advice when I mentioned covering all the bases. Not that it's going to help anyway, since every kid in the country has started school by now... Talk about shutting the door after the horse has bolted Hmm

They definitely start school in the books; I remember reading about their first day - they saw a bigger boy they already knew, and did some painting iirr.

sewingandcakes · 25/09/2014 20:06

Ds1 said to DH "I wish you could be a fun dad like T&Ts dad

Doris75 · 25/09/2014 20:10

This is cracking me up! T&T really get on my wick, but DS loves them! Why, oh why, son? And then, at the end, (cue forlorn face) 'topsy gone' for the next 15 mins... Yeah, good bloody riddance, until tomorrow at 17:20.

TrinnyandSatsuma · 25/09/2014 20:18

Every time it's in in our house, I mutter under my breath "they aren't even twins!"

:-)

TiffanyToothache · 25/09/2014 20:21

Younger kids could act! I give you Woolly and Tig as my evidence.

RabbitSaysWoof · 25/09/2014 20:28

Tig's just a voice over mainly tho isn't she, she narrates through but you rarely see her say a line except that one at the end 'its just my toy spider' and she's not that understandable when she says that.

Bozzle · 25/09/2014 20:35

We like T&T in our house... i think its nice that they show affection to each other and the parents hug and kiss their kids. You don't often see that in children's tv shows.

PunkrockerGirl · 25/09/2014 20:41

I only realised recently that Topsy and Tim are still around. I used to read it to dc about 20 years ago. My heart used to sink when they wanted me to read Topsy and Tim go to the bastarding doctor's (was their favourite). And now they have their own show? What fresh hell is this? Grin

Pico2 · 25/09/2014 21:02

The narrator in Woolly and Tig isn't the girl who plays Tig, it's her older sister.

MamOfTwo · 25/09/2014 21:35

I bet if Topsy and Tim and Tig ended up at the same school their mums would pretend to be all friendly but secretly they would be uber-competitive and try to outdo each other with their home-baked goods at PTA events.
