to think that jeans don't just get up and walk off by themselves

I washed and ironed them and now they have vanished. I've spent 2 days looking for them. Nowhere to be found. Not in the airing cupboard, the chest of drawers, the kids rooms or back in the wash. Do jeans just bugger off once they've had enough and think you are too big for them? WTF?! Confused

They've run off with my newish ones. I'm now wondering if I'm imagining buying them but the dc confirm I did.

TheBatteriesHaveRunOut · 24/09/2014 09:14

look at your legs

are you wearing them

carefully examine the legs of everyone else in the household for the same reason

bigjimsdiamondmine · 24/09/2014 09:15

Mine have gone missing too Shock been looking for them for a week Sad

LittleMisslikestobebythesea · 24/09/2014 09:16

Ghost?

We had a bowl disappear once which just showed up on the kitchen side, neither of us had put it there!

diddl · 24/09/2014 09:18

My husband lost a pair of jeans for ages.
They were in the wardrobe on a hanger that also had a jacket on.

We both looked multiple times!

Oldraver · 24/09/2014 09:55

Oh how spooky. I have lost a pair of jeans. Looked for them a few days ago in the wardrobe and they wern't there so had a quick look at otehr possible hiding places. I wanted to wear them today so assumed they were in the ironing basket downstairs...not there.

And I cant go into the bedroom to solve the mystery,

40SomethingFabulouslyClueless · 24/09/2014 10:32

TheBattterie... Grin I've just snorted tea everywhere.

Tis very odd. Definitely not wearing them. Neither is anyone else, teenage daughter will only wear black leggings and crop top . Not in the wardrobe. Perhaps all the lost jeans are having a party somewhere.

Hmm, I'm missing a t-shirt too. This is very strange.

It was ..........(wait for it.......)

ThirdPoliceman · 24/09/2014 10:36

Oh, and I know a song about that.....

(Here all week.....)

Sillysausage2 · 24/09/2014 10:37

NamesNick · 24/09/2014 10:41

oddly enough a pair of jeans turned up in our house.
female jeans. size 10. make: hula?
if they are yours op then im wearing them..they are quite niceGrin

BalloonSlayer · 24/09/2014 10:42

DS1 (13 at the time) came downstairs once ranting that he needed a belt. House turned upside down while belts were found, rejected etc.

Eventually I wondered why he suddenly needed a belt that day of all days and took a closer look.

He had MY jeans on. Fitted him fine for length and on the legs but sadly on the bum and waist they were enormous! Grin

"DS those are MY jeans"

< Strop Factor 8 > "Well why were they in MY wardrobe!"

Hmm
40SomethingFabulouslyClueless · 24/09/2014 10:47

Arf at Jean genie!

Not mine, Nick. Maybe they are oldravers?

Yep, I can imagine teenage son doing the same...

Do any of your neighbours have a cat?

cherrybombxo · 24/09/2014 12:26

I had a (hideously expensive Shock Absorber) sports bra that vanished just weeks after I bough it. Vanished.

It was when I lived with my ex-flatmate and even after we gutted the flat ahead of me moving out it was nowhere to be seen Confused

AMumInScotland · 24/09/2014 12:33

What else were you ironing at the time? You might have put them away with that?

Bardette · 24/09/2014 12:48

Were you taking them somewhere and had to put them down to answer the phone or deal with some small crisis?

QueenofLouisiana · 24/09/2014 13:05

They've run off with many socks from my house....unluckily they never run off in pairs!

DS lost a load of rugby kit last year- he'd hung it up neatly, something he so rarely does that it never occurred to him to look in the wardrobe on the hangers...

Fatmanbuttsam · 24/09/2014 13:16

Something strange is afoot.......me thinks there is a clothes stealer gang operating on a large scale throughout the UK

Why only the other day I was wandering around with a towel in my hand to polish off the taps and hand basins in the bathrooms before people came to view my house when all of a sudden I realised I no longer had the towel. We have searched throughout the house but so far the towel has not materialised....

40SomethingFabulouslyClueless · 24/09/2014 13:18

The neighbours do have a cat, but I've not noticed it wearing any items of clothing

I've checked the other ironing. I may well have put them down somewhere stupid and then got distracted, but I really have looked all over the house.

I can't believe how many plausible explanations you've come up with. I'm very impressed! Perhaps I need to start a MN lost and found office...

40SomethingFabulouslyClueless · 24/09/2014 13:21

Fatman... For a moment there I thought you were WEARING the towel before you lost it... i'm obviously losing the plot (as well as my jeans)

OP posts:
HoneyDragon · 24/09/2014 13:22

Were you planning to wear them with a top and they are hidden under the top on a hanger in the wardrobe? Or worse under someone else's top?

Fatmanbuttsam · 24/09/2014 13:25

@ 40SomethingFabulouslyClueless Grin....nope, definitely not wearing it....was running around like a headless chicken trying to tidy up and get the place looking half decent......have looked under beds, in wardrobes....everywhere I can think of but no sign of my towel....perhaps it has migrated to the parallel world where all the missing half of my sock pairs have emigrated to.....I think there is a secret portal to it through my washing machine

hellsbellsmelons · 24/09/2014 13:27

I always find lost items in my gym bag!
Belts, shoes, etc.... but never jeans Hmm
