to think that jeans don't just get up and walk off by themselves

I washed and ironed them and now they have vanished. I've spent 2 days looking for them. Nowhere to be found. Not in the airing cupboard, the chest of drawers, the kids rooms or back in the wash. Do jeans just bugger off once they've had enough and think you are too big for them? WTF?! Confused

YABU for ironing jeans.

I bought a new hideously expensive Shock Absorber bra in June. I wore it twice, then didn't wear it for a few weeks . Now, it's gone. Cannot find it anywhere. Have been reduced to wearing the old one which has a dodgy clasp and I'd only kept as for emergencies. I have a horrible suspicion that I may have thrown the new one out thinking it was the old one...

Or it's off partying with the OP's jeans and top.

Fallen off the back of the sofa? That sometimes happens with my ironing. My son has lost a pair of running spikes that he swears are in the house...can't find them anywhere

MrsWedgeAntilles · 24/09/2014 13:44

I lost a pair of jeans the week we moved house. I found a very similar pair of jeans 4 weeks later at the top of the wild part of the park across the road from our house, it was a bit odd.

SistersOfPercy · 24/09/2014 14:02

Most lost washing in our house turns up inside the clean duvet covers. That said, I lost a skirt in February and still can't find it.

Jelliebabe2 · 24/09/2014 16:50

So that's one pair of jeans, a top a sports bra, some socks and a cleaning towel plus my blue Cardigan... Its the invisible housewife!

jacks365 · 24/09/2014 16:54

Been through all the wardrobes, checked every hanger carefully, checked everywhere I can think of and can't find my jeans but I know if I go out and replace them they will turn up within 10 minutes.

diddl · 24/09/2014 18:01

We'd also looked on all the hangers.
The jacket that was also on was closed over the jeans.
Wasn't until we actually took the hanger out that we saw them.

Mydelilah · 24/09/2014 18:19

Possibly the Aliens that love underpants have expanded their fetish to denim items?

flingingmelon · 24/09/2014 18:19

YY heartstrumpsdiamonds, they've clearly run off because you've been mistreating them!

NorwaySpruce · 24/09/2014 18:22

My son's new jeans were slung over a chair after Scouts (very lax troupe). They were there for weeks before anyone actually saw them.

Weird.

RachaelAgnes · 24/09/2014 18:23

I have a pair of Levi's. They have just arrived, they are a size too small. I have no teenagers, no idea where they came from. They are folded in my drawer.....

TwoAndTwoEqualsChaos · 24/09/2014 18:25

I found a pair of lost jeans under a new pile of the children's library books in the sitting room. Just saying ...

Fluffyears · 24/09/2014 18:29

My skirt vanished one morning. I put my tights on the went get the skirt I'd just taken off the drier and it had vanished. Dp laughed and said 'how does someone lose a skirt?' Found it a week later down back of sofa but swear I didn't have it in living roomConfused. I also lost a nice pair of tights once and found them in my dad's drawer my mum had picked them up with his washing but obviously I took great delight in ribbing him about cross dressing.

NormHonal · 24/09/2014 18:33

My denim jacket is also AWOL, whilst we're all looking. And it's perfect denim jacket weather at the moment well, it's a bit nippy but...

I'm predicting my jacket will turn up precisely one minute after the first snowflake of the winter falls. No sooner.

40SomethingFabulouslyClueless · 25/09/2014 07:57

Ok I've just found it, in a pile of washing that was about to go in the machine. It definitely wasn't there last night because they are in a pile of darks (jeans are light) which was too big to fit in the machine and I went through it splitting it into delicates and towels. Glad they've shown up, but a bit Hmm as to how they got there.

That happened to me once. In the end about a week later I found the missing jeans in the tumble drier!

5Foot5 · 25/09/2014 17:56

This also happened to me once and the only conclusion I could reach was that they blew away. That is less daft than it sounds because our washing line was out of action due to gardening hoo-ha and I discovered cleaning lady was draping stuff over the climbing frame to dry.
