Evening all!

OP posts:
flippinada · 19/09/2014 01:55

Just to clarify , woman in PINK jacket talking now to Andrew Neil on BBC 1 is Polly Toynbee.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 19/09/2014 01:55

75% for Glasgow, wow. Have the other 25% been living under a rock?

SlowlorisIncognito · 19/09/2014 01:55

Yes, to be fair 75% is still a really impressive turnout!

livingzuid · 19/09/2014 01:55

I wonder if a lot of people abstained in Glasgow? I am not sure why I say that, but is it something around how it has been so hotly contested?

Middleagedmoo · 19/09/2014 01:55

South Lanarkshire turnout 85%, I'm in South Lan.

squoosh · 19/09/2014 01:56

Middleagedmoo the word 'journey' needs to be banned. You'd swear they were all on X Factor.

Pat Kane = arse.

PhaedraIsMyName · 19/09/2014 01:56

Oh she can be annoying.

fibromum · 19/09/2014 01:56

East Dunbartonshire, my area 91% turnout.

GrouchyKiwi · 19/09/2014 01:56

East Dunbartonshire 91‰!

flippinada · 19/09/2014 01:57

I'd go as far as 75% turnout for Glasgow is exceptionally high. But that may be the wine talking :).

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 19/09/2014 01:57

From BBC website live news feed:
We are hearing early and unofficial talk from the "Yes" camp that they have lost the count in West Lothian. They are telling us it is 45% for Yes.

StatisticallyChallenged · 19/09/2014 01:57

75% is good normally, but I think they were expecting a higher turnout there and in Dundee which were both seen as being strongly Yes.

SlowlorisIncognito · 19/09/2014 01:57

Think I am going to have to have a nap but might end up not waking up for a while. Be very interesting to see what the result is in the morning and good luck to Scotland whatever happens.

GrouchyKiwi · 19/09/2014 01:57

Who is Martin Compston?

flippinada · 19/09/2014 01:58

Scotland turnout 98% for Pat Kane to shut up about politics.

The other 2% are his family and friends.

livingzuid · 19/09/2014 01:58

Lesley Riddoch tells fairy tales like I eat Minstrels. Which is an awful lot.

PhaedraIsMyName · 19/09/2014 01:58

75% would be high for a general election but it's poor for something like this.

Toadinthehole · 19/09/2014 01:58

Glasgow turnout for the last general election was 50%, so it represents a comparatively good effort. Don't know what the turnout was for the last SP elections.

MrsTerryPratchett · 19/09/2014 01:59

The 75% in Glasgow have reminded me of, ironically, this quote...

“And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.”

TunnocksCW · 19/09/2014 01:59

I am exhausted, had a shit day and even " political" DH is snoring, but here I am. Me, politics, nail biting, nooooooo.....

Still, looks like it will be a no. I can't put on sound now as the rest of the house is sleeping so I'm relying on this thread and BBC updates.

I really feel like I am hearing everyone in Scotland's voices and it makes me very happy.

flippinada · 19/09/2014 01:59

Guardian live saying 60 to no, 40 to yes in Aberdeenshire.

That's AS's stamping ground.

PhaedraIsMyName · 19/09/2014 01:59

Who is Martin Compston
A really quite good Scottish actor but an annoying person. A sleb yes.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 19/09/2014 02:00

Anyone know how many councils / counties there are in total?

squoosh · 19/09/2014 02:00

If 1 in 4 Glaswegians didn't vote in this referendum they will never EVER vote in a general election.

Cambiodenombre · 19/09/2014 02:00

grouchy he's an actor
