To wonder why the Press aren't banging on about the age difference between George and Amal?

looking at these pictures he could be her dad but are the Press banging on about the 16 year age difference? Er no. You don't think it's because he's a man, do you? If a woman of 53 was marrying a 36 year old man, she'd be labelled a cougar and he'd be a toyboy but Amal isn't being called a toy girl!

He looks like a more attractive version of someone I know who is a massive cock. So i am biased in being able to believe the same of him.

But George seems very amiable. And well-meaning. And most of all, has a mansion on Lake Como. And presumably, a really good Nespresso machine.

Half plus 7 rule. Unless it breaks that, its not worth reporting on or even commenting on. Which means good old George can happily marry a woman as young as 33.5.

Although George Clooney seems like a nice enough guy I think she is too good for him and the whole thing is a bit depressing. I think there are some men who have a lot of uncommitted fun dating underwear models, whom they don't take very seriously, then get to an age when they think 'Shit, if I don't settle down and have kids now it'll be too late' and then they opt for the first eligible 'marriage material' woman who comes along (ie is not an underwear model). I find it depressing because I think it all comes down to the right timing in life for the man and finding a sensible wife and mother, rather than to falling in love with someone. I'd hate to think that someone was marrying me because I'd appeared at the time they were looking to settle down.

I should also add that I work sometimes with actors and it is still seen as career-damaging for a leading man type to come out as gay. Character actor or comedy actor - fine, leading man - not fine. It shouldn't be like this but it is.

I've never met anyone who has worked with George Clooney so I have no idea whether this is relevant to him or not.

Lots of us have known people who have worked with him and it's just known but not spoke about .

I agree about the timing thing. I mean, they've been together all of five minutes. I expect Leonardo will do something similar.
