AIBU to reject the laziness culture

TAAT... sorry. Actually thread about two threads, one FB post and many other things recently.

'Lazy' seems to be the ultimate insult to parents, mothers in particular. Drive to school; lazy. Eat McDs; lazy. Don't knit your own tie-dye nappies, wash them in homemade, organic soap and line dry them; lazy.

AND?

A lot of us work, look after children, have aging parents, deal with SN (our own or others), volunteer, need to be there for friends, family and partners. A combination of these, different things and life in general. What is wrong with relaxing a little, or going easy on ourselves?

Here's to laziness. Wine

Some people are sooooo competitive about parenting.
Not me.
I'm the laziest parent ever.
Fact.
Lazier than all of you.

I win.

Wine

As parents not every aspect of parenthood is going to get our full energy and resources. I might get this made into vinyl and lovingly decorate my kitchen with it.

CheesyBadger · 11/09/2014 20:30

My mum makes me feel like I am lazy driving to the school. To be honest I have a very complex dd who often doesn't easily manage the walk and just love whizzing home after to get on with my day. Please guilt leave me and let me be lazy!!!

AnaisB · 11/09/2014 20:30

You say "lazy", I say "efficient."

MrsTerryPratchett · 11/09/2014 20:30

If you have cats, WeirdCatLady you must at least throw them a tin once or twice a week. You aren't lazy at all faker.

Today I took DS to nursery, came home and went back to bed after setting my alarm just in time for pick up. It took a lot of energy.

Wine to lazy!

I'll take laziness over over-achieving any day.

kinkymouse · 11/09/2014 20:36

Wine annaiseb efficient is my mantra. I'm self employed and earn the same part time as I did full time in employment. I'm called lazy for not busting my arse. Pah. I think not.

Only1scoop · 11/09/2014 20:36

Liverpool ...but did you dress or onesie run to school?
