To not want to pay for another scrounger?

weatherall · 08/09/2014 10:38

Poor Kate's with child again.

When will these scroungers stop pumping out sprogs they expect all the rest of us to pay for?

OP posts:
WildThong · 08/09/2014 12:10

Am I unreasonable to not want to pay for another scrounger

A couple near me don't work but receive every benefit going. AIBU to suggest they are forced to use contraception until I think they are contributing to society?

Hmm How does that sound ?

walkonthewildside · 08/09/2014 12:10

YANBU, but if you don't fawn all over the royals on MN you get called spiteful and bitter.

MarmaladeShatkins · 08/09/2014 12:12

Don't be childish, written. You know what I'm saying. I'm not saying that he will miss the money that he donates, but, he is working for nothing, essentially. He would still get his royal grant whether he worked a normal job or just attended the occasional charity function/royal engagement. Like it or not, in his position, he is doing a Good Thing. Forty grand a year to a charity will make a huge difference. I'm sure that whichever charity it is that is lucky enough to benefit from this money won't be scoffing over it.

walkonthewildside · 08/09/2014 12:12

And hahaha at traitor , off with your head. OP.

MTWTFSS · 08/09/2014 12:12

Sorry to hear that, Sliced Thanks

Kewcumber · 08/09/2014 12:12

I strongly suspect the junior royals would give a great big cheer if we voted to be a republic. They would take their inherited wealth and do what they wanted to without the duties.

They would just become another one or two or three of those rich people who doss around on inherited money without having to justify themselves. Whats not to like about that?

Bit tasteless to start a thread talking about "pumping out sprogs" though. You sound charmless.

And there is a long history of the throne not being passed to a direct descendant but sideways (within living memory in fact!) so I have no idea what you're wittering about divorce in case of infertility. But don't let the facts get in the way of a good diatribe.

WildThong · 08/09/2014 12:13

walk there is a difference between "fawning" and simply wishing them well on a new baby.

emotionsecho · 08/09/2014 12:13

written if you have received any State benefits, or will in the future, or have accessed any of the State funded institutions then you have already been 'sent' more than 1p.

WorraLiberty · 08/09/2014 12:13

YANBU, but if you don't fawn all over the royals on MN you get called spiteful and bitter

Absolute rubbish

I've never fawned all over them...quite the opposite in fact and I've never been called either of those things.

People get called spiteful and bitter, when they're being spiteful and bitter.

And that's exactly how the OP's posts make her come across imo.

Idontseeanysontarans · 08/09/2014 12:14

Calling an unborn child a scrounger IS spiteful and bitter.

Missunreasonable · 08/09/2014 12:14

I fault us all for sending them all the money we do.

If you really can't bear it then go and live in one of the many tax havens so you don't have to 'send them any money'.
Nobody is forcing you to stay here contributing. However, many people are disgusted by people referring to babies as scroungers.
I don't even like the royals and would prefer we didn't have a monarchy but I am not going to start throwing nasty statements around about an unborn child and a woman who is pregnant.

HotPinkWeaselWearingLederhosen · 08/09/2014 12:15

Op, your amazing I think you should be in charge of everyone and people can only have children on your say so as you have an amazing insight to everyone's life ever.

Incidentally if you are paying for all the scroungers can you let the coalition know so the rest of us can stop paying tax. Ta.

Kewcumber · 08/09/2014 12:18

Anyway you could argue that the Royals are underwritten by corporation tax not personal tax - why assume its all being funded out of personal tax when corporation tax and employers national insurance contribution account for more than 20% of the total tax take in this country?

walkonthewildside · 08/09/2014 12:19

MN loves a royal baby. I'm rather glad there are a few on here who don't.

fluffywhiterabbit · 08/09/2014 12:19

personally I think being an immediate member of the royal family is a job, because I consider things like hospital visits and representing the country a job
and the tourist like it

yet its interesting how most people on mn slate those on benefits, for whatever reason
yet kiss the arse of the royals

I don't blame kate for not working
she doesn't want to
she doesn't need to
so she please's herself by following what she want rather than what people expect and that's to be admired

although I really hope we don't have to hear every bloody detail like last time
makes me feel sick!

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 08/09/2014 12:20

It's an unborn baby. Stop being so nasty and negative.

Kewcumber · 08/09/2014 12:21

I have every respect for people who would prefer this country was a republic and campaign for that. Cheap potshots at individuals who had no choice about the family they were born into for daring to have children themselves does rather smack of jealously and spite rather than any cogent argument against the institution of monarchy.

CariadsDarling · 08/09/2014 12:22

It's lovely news.

ChasedByBees · 08/09/2014 12:22

I bet he pays more tax than you. Do you earn enough to pay for all the taxation benefits you receive and positively contribute above this to the economy OP?

By that I mean that you benefit from roads, healthcare, schools, etc. Do you reckon you cover the cost of all those services you use and then some? I imagine they do, but I have a feeling you might be scrounging off them.

Maisyblue · 08/09/2014 12:25

William is wealthy in his own right through inheritances, one way or another all off the taxpayer. As regards the usual same old claptrap about the 'tourists'....France got rid of their royals hundreds of years ago, yet is the number 1 tourist spot on earth. Funny that.

emotionsecho · 08/09/2014 12:25

walk MN is a website for parents, would have thought they would be all for babies.Confused

thegreylady · 08/09/2014 12:27

No fawning here-ever. However I think it just sounds silly, yes silly for people to write posts like the OP and those of her supporters. Would you rather we had a Putin, an Obama or a Cameron as our head of state and overseas representative? No one could have a greater sense of duty than our present Queen and it seems as though William will travel the same road.

Maisyblue · 08/09/2014 12:27

i bet he pays more tax than you .....what a ridiculous way of justifying massive unearned wealth.

OwlCapone · 08/09/2014 12:27

Sounds like nothing right? I don't suppose I can convince everyone in the UK to send 1p my way, can I? come on! it's only 1p!

What are you planning to do to earn that 1p? At the very least I would want you to ensure that your every move is scrutinised by the press and to do a spot of charity support.

Waltermittythesequel · 08/09/2014 12:27

Did I read somewhere that George made a shit load of money in memorabilia and increased tourism?

That's one hard working baby! Wink

By the way, I'm Irish. I certainly don't fawn over your royals. I do find royal families fascinating though!
