Poor Kate's with child again.

When will these scroungers stop pumping out sprogs they expect all the rest of us to pay for?

OP posts:

don't have the foggiest idea what you are talking about.

That doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

Aeroflotgirl · 08/09/2014 11:40

Stop being a misery, yes he is wealthy in his own right and he has a job.

Missunreasonable · 08/09/2014 11:40

They of course have every right to have a child. My guess is that the OP, and I obviously agree (can you tell?), is not happy having to pay for them, or their child, or their flat, or anything else.

Maybe I'm not happy to pay for yours either but you have still claimed benefits.

EarthWindFire · 08/09/2014 11:43

Wow you're a ray of sunshine aren't you?! Would you say this to anybody who had a better job than you? Jealous? Much?

^ this

They'll have fertility MOT'ed her before the wedding. Nice.

Know that for a fact do you? Where you there!?

Aeroflotgirl · 08/09/2014 11:46

There are some miseries on here arent there! They have every right to have another child like the next person fgs. I am happy for them, I hope that they have a happy and healthy child.

news.sky.com/story/955117/how-much-does-the-royal-family-cost

According to that link writtenguarantee the entire royal family cost you 52p last year. I hope you didn't claim more than 52p in benefits (housing benefit included) otherwise you can't really argue that you are paying for kate to have another baby or for her flat renovations or whatever else.

writtenguarantee · 08/09/2014 11:48

I have only received child benefit (i think that's what it's called). But I don't think meager benefits for working families are quite the same either in kind or scale as the royal grant.

Mrsjayy · 08/09/2014 11:48

Wonder if they are over the threshold for child benefits Grin op you are also paying for politians children you know that dont you nice private schools im sure david camerons children wont be wiping arses anytime soon

Hoppinggreen · 08/09/2014 11:48

Well it's obviously a ploy to stop Scotland voting for Devolution isn't it.
(Oi luffs a good conspiracy theory me!!)

BigbyWolf · 08/09/2014 11:50

Wow! Were you born such a miserable and ignorant old fart or did you have to work at it?

It's lovely news Smile
Long live the Monarchy! Grin

emotionsecho · 08/09/2014 11:51

So in the OP's Republican Utopia it is perfectly acceptable to refer to an unborn child as a 'scrounger'?

MTWTFSS · 08/09/2014 11:53

Do you have any idea how much revenue the Royal family bring in for the British economy?!? We'd be lost without them!

writtenguarantee · 08/09/2014 11:54

  1. I have never received a dime of housing benefit.
  2. doesn't account for the royal wedding.
  3. I would prefer to give that 52p to just about anything else (NHS, universities, state education, teachers, infrastructure spending, a homeless person on the street, etc etc ANYTHING ELSE).
ArabellaTarantella · 08/09/2014 11:56

There are plenty of countries without Royal Families written Grin

Idontseeanysontarans · 08/09/2014 11:56

Having seen our local air ambulance crew doing a damn good job a rather upsetting number of times recently I think William is following an excellent career path and we need more like him and his colleagues, not less.
She couldn't get a 'proper job' without being slagged off for using her royal contacts so that ones out and the unborn child has done absolutely nothing to deserve to be called a scrounger at (probably) less than 12 weeks gestation.
Very poor form OP.

MarmaladeShatkins · 08/09/2014 11:57

I think it's vile to call a baby a scrounger. You'd not dare say that about a baby born into a life on benefits, so why is this baby any more fair game?

FWIW, William is donating his £40K salary to charity. Yeah, yeah he can afford it. But he doesn't have to do it. It's not his or his brother's fault that they've been born into that family but they seem to be trying to make a decent go of things, unlike the generations of royals before them. They seem like nice, decent men. Not their fault who their grandmother is.

Waltermittythesequel · 08/09/2014 12:00

This baby is scrounging 52p???

I'm so sorry, OP. YANBU at all.

How on earth are people supposed to bankroll this carry on? And two of them? That's more than a pound ffs!

UncleT · 08/09/2014 12:00

Hard to be polite about this thread. Get over yourself, you traitor. Perhaps you could support a little slice of tradition in an otherwise horribly materialistic world.

writtenguarantee · 08/09/2014 12:01

By the way, that 52p is person, not per tax payer, so it's more like 2 pounds per person.

Sounds like nothing right? I don't suppose I can convince everyone in the UK to send 1p my way, can I? come on! it's only 1p!

Many things outside the big ticket items (NHS, universities etc) cost only pounds or pennies per person. The question is whether that's a good use (economically and morally) of public funds.

SlicedAndDiced · 08/09/2014 12:01

I'm as republican as they come and really do believe the monarchy has no place in a truly democratic society. I will probably be avoiding fb, news, here etc. for the next few months.

But I won't be nasty about a couple having a baby. Having just lost my son (late mc stillbirth) four weeks ago I firmly believe in sending positive vibes to anyone expecting.

Being vicious and spiteful to another human being is really damaging to the republican movement. You can hate the institution (I do) but to bring it down to a personal attack on the royals is idiotic at best.

ArabellaTarantella · 08/09/2014 12:02

Oh I think 'morally' William and Harry have a right to exist ! Economically the Royal Family bring MILLIONS into the public coffers. Do you?

Waltermittythesequel · 08/09/2014 12:03

Flowers sliced

MarmaladeShatkins · 08/09/2014 12:04

So sorry to hear that, Sliced. Flowers

SlicedAndDiced · 08/09/2014 12:06

Thank you Walter and Marmalade. Have been getting fabulous support on here.

But seeing all the vitriol everywhere directed at an unborn child is making me feel very sick today.

writtenguarantee · 08/09/2014 12:07

FWIW, William is donating his £40K salary to charity. Yeah, yeah he can afford it. But he doesn't have to do it.

I find this line of reasoning totally comical. Tell you what. I will donate my salary (apparently more than poor Will's) to charity too, if I can get a royal grant. I guarantee I will come out ahead.

But that won't happen. I won't get a big fat grant. So, if I donate my entire salary, I won't eat.

It's not his or his brother's fault that they've been born into that family but they seem to be trying to make a decent go of things, unlike the generations of royals before them. They seem like nice, decent men. Not their fault who their grandmother is.

all true. I don't fault him for who his grandmother is. I fault us all for sending them all the money we do.
