Just reminiscing about my time as a yoof. I drank wine with my friends from the age of 14 onwards. It's still my drink of choice. I remember being 15 and taking a bottle of my dad's £40 red, drank the entire bottle and vomited on the village green Grin. I liked sweet rose but I also had a taste for a nice dry Italian White. I liked red, but only the expensive stuff I could take from my dad's collection Blush. I remember using my elder sister's ID to go to nightclubs in Exeter wild and ordering bottles of wine, the staff were a bit Hmm. Still a wino but I also dabble in cocktails now! I went to school with the son of a Fairly famous (or he was then) food journo and drinking fuckloads and shagging him too his dad's wine collection with him. I'm 32, this thread could be an indicator of age lol. Share any memories of a misspent yoof too!

Mad dog 20/20, White Lightening and latterly Hooch. We weren't fussy.

I couldn't think of anything worse than drinking wine as it was a Blue Nun in my house. Now, I could bathe in the stuff

newky (newcastle) brown and pedigree bitter. Even though that one was hell on my bowels.

I am old enough to have benefited from the old pub landlord type who didn't much care how old you were, as long as you weren't being a twat. Grin

Oh god yes! I forgot Malibu and coke, was in bed for days after that when I was 17, never touched it since!

squoosh · 07/09/2014 00:33

Princess Pippin champagne cider.

Classy.

francesdrake · 07/09/2014 00:45

Oh, Blastaways. That brings back memories. And that horrible Taboo/Mirage combo, the evil twins of cheap pre-school disco booze, one red, one white...

TheScottishPlay · 07/09/2014 00:52

Thunderbird, MD 20/20, Dubonnet, Glayva, Ursus vodka, Diamond Blush and Tony's Freezer Cocktails.
Never touch a drop now surprisingly!

heartshapedflux · 07/09/2014 00:55

Hooch, Castaway, Cider & Black.

One aged 17 I drank twice my quota of Hooches on a "St. Valentines Day Massacre" 1/2 price drinks night and passed out at the back of the nightclub stage scouring all the way down my back with a nail. I was so drunk I felt so pain whatsoever. I got a massive bollocking from my mum when I got home, bleeding everywhere. I never drank Hooch again after that..

MarkWrightsLonelyBraincell · 07/09/2014 01:00

Blackcurrant and Pear Vodka Source, Vodka lime and soda. Southern Comfort and lemonade.
Snakebite and Black - I was never ever sick after drinking until the Snakebite night bleurghh.
Pints of lager, Moscow Mules.

Now I like a nice glass of prosecco, Sol style beer or fruit cider.

almapudden · 07/09/2014 01:07

When I was at sixth form I drank cider and black on a Thursday, which was indie night; on Saturday we'd go to Wetherspoons, where you could get four Bacardi Breezers for a fiver (in 2001-2). Sometimes followed by four Aftershocks, also for a fiver. And I almost never vommed!

MrsCakesPrecognition · 07/09/2014 01:10

Brandy and babycham, vodka and orange or Merrydown cider from 17.
Diamond white at uni.
Scotch and Mac with work colleagues.
Now I like a nice glass of wine or an interesting cider.

AliceInGallifrey · 07/09/2014 01:22

Cheap cider along the lines of white lightening or a bottle of Bella... Both where 99p and we'd drink them on the school field around ten years ago.

When I progressed to pubs and clubs I'd drink vodka red bull always a double and shots of sambuca ( still my drinks of choice now)

My sister drinks cider and black , I can't get past the smell it reminds me of being drunk on cider as a young teen lol

BigbyWolf · 07/09/2014 01:28

When I was a teenager, my drink of choice was tea...

FabulousFudge · 07/09/2014 01:28

Lambreni
Reef
Archers and lemonade

FabulousFudge · 07/09/2014 01:29

Also wkd blue and Bacardi breezers

AlleyCat11 · 07/09/2014 01:33

Used to get blotto on Diamond White.
Vomited after a pint of Baileys...
First booze I ever tasted was my auntie's Malibu. The white bottle made if easy to sneak.

ShadowsCollideCantLogInToMN · 07/09/2014 01:55

When I was 14 it was 'knacker drinking' Devil's Bit cider. When I started going out it was Heineken, Peach Schnapps and orange juice, or Southern Comfort and red lemonade. Now it's just Sauvignon Blanc. Although apparently I necked the dregs from every glass of wine at a dinner party when I was 6 (before my parents could stop me) so perhaps my love of a good cold Sauvignon Blanc started then Wink

musicalendorphins2 · 07/09/2014 02:05

Milk, or tea.

squoosh · 07/09/2014 02:05

knacker drinking for me too.

Was fond of a peach schnapps, suspect it would taste like an airwick air freshener now.

ShadowsCollideCantLogInToMN · 07/09/2014 02:31

Oh squoosh, you have to be Irish then Grin. Was it Devil's Bit, Linden Village, or Stonehouse for you in your knacker drinking days?

squoosh · 07/09/2014 02:38

Scrumpy Jack and Linden Village. And a can of Ritz if we were feeling fancy!

ShadowsCollideCantLogInToMN · 07/09/2014 02:49

Oh we were never fancy enough for Ritz. It was a flaggin of cider and 10 Silk Cut Purple. Classy, we were Wink.

kellibabylove · 07/09/2014 03:02

Iron bru WKD topped up with more vodka when id drank a little bit Hmm I do worry for DD's for when they get to 16/17.
