Just reminiscing about my time as a yoof. I drank wine with my friends from the age of 14 onwards. It's still my drink of choice. I remember being 15 and taking a bottle of my dad's £40 red, drank the entire bottle and vomited on the village green Grin. I liked sweet rose but I also had a taste for a nice dry Italian White. I liked red, but only the expensive stuff I could take from my dad's collection Blush. I remember using my elder sister's ID to go to nightclubs in Exeter wild and ordering bottles of wine, the staff were a bit Hmm. Still a wino but I also dabble in cocktails now! I went to school with the son of a Fairly famous (or he was then) food journo and drinking fuckloads and shagging him too his dad's wine collection with him. I'm 32, this thread could be an indicator of age lol. Share any memories of a misspent yoof too!

vodka, malibu or ovd, mixed into a pepsi bottle so I could take it to school
sambucca straight out the bottle at the weekend.

Judging by my little sister's mates on results day the drink of choice these days is cheap lidls pear cider, bought for them by a 6th former and passed round in the bottle or drunk out of mcdonalds cups. Little sister wasn't drinking in the park with them though because she's too cool and was busy stealing my wine

HeartShapedBox · 06/09/2014 21:47

buckfast Blush can't stand the stuff now!

vodka, pernod, peach snaps and cider if I was desperate.

mad dog if I was really desperate.

HeartShapedBox · 06/09/2014 21:47

or schnapps, even Grin

TamzinGrey · 06/09/2014 21:48

Brandy and babysham, dry martini and lemonade, barley wine

Wherediparkmybroom · 06/09/2014 21:51

Mad dog, diamond white, white lightning shite when skint 10 embassy and a good night was had by all! Still have a fondness for embassy but as a treat too bloody expensive now!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/09/2014 21:51

This is from my younger days (I don't drink now)

Southern Comfort, Canada Dry and a slice of orange

Pernod and Black

My parents don't drink so there was no stealing anything from them Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 06/09/2014 21:55

Bacardi and Coke - I still drink it now.

Occasionally I would switch to Vodka and Lime or Lager and Lime in the summer - still drink those too. I'm either lacking in imagination or very brand loyal Grin

At the age of about 13/14 we pinched a few beer stubbies from our parents. We took them up to London with us when we went to stalk get the autograph of a famous mid 90s indie singer and I have a memory of a music journalist opening them on his car door for us! It was really our first time drinking alcohol so we hadn't thought to bring a bottle opener!

I then didn't really drink until I was about 16 or 17 and then I drunk barcardi breezers, Smirnoff ice, e.t.c... I remember getting really drunk at my first ever work christmas party when I was 16. I was very ill the following day and had to hide it from my mum as she would have hit the roof. I spent the day on the sofa in our school sixth form block feeling very sorry for myself! This was after vomiting in the bath. Eventually a friend walked me home with the instruction to eat dry toast!

I also remember having a glass of Lambrusco at a family party when I was about 15 and saying I quite liked it...so then my Gran kept buying me Lambrusco for Christmas after that!

cherrybombxo · 06/09/2014 21:59

Anything and everything. I quickly realised that vodka really didn't sit well with me and even one or two measure could result in me throwing up for 24 hours. I moved onto tequila for some reason and now I don't drink, barring a Bailey's hot chocolate at Christmas or a very occasional strawberry and lime cider (only one, any more and I feel sick Blush)

I was last drunk four years ago. My hangovers result in me vomiting for a day and a half so it's really not worth it. I gave it all up after the last instance of hanging off my bed, weeping quietly into a bucket and I really don't miss it.

DragonReena · 06/09/2014 22:00

Oh and Malibu and coke! I got a taste for that about 17 and drunk it until I was about 20 (not constantly). Archers and lemonade wasn't bad either.

MoominKoalaAndMiniMoom · 06/09/2014 22:01

Jagerbombs.

cherrybombxo · 06/09/2014 22:01

I should also mention that (aside from the aforementioned Bailey's and cider) I really dislike the taste of any and all alcohol so I'm not spiting myself in any way. There's nothing about booze that I like, I get my jollies from chocolate and cake Grin

ineedsomeinspiration · 06/09/2014 22:02

A chocolate hobnob Wink

thereturnofshoesy · 06/09/2014 22:04

gin and cider

MrRabbitsUtopia · 06/09/2014 22:05

Archers and lemonade - mid to late teens
Tia Maria and OJ - mid to late teens
Strongbow - early twenties
White wine by the bottle - twenties

These days more likely to have a single glass of wine or a cider or the occasional whiskey or drambuie especially around Christmas time.

Oodlives · 06/09/2014 22:15

Didn't thunderbird come in 2 strengths ?
I was 16 in 1994 and drinking at before then

titchy · 06/09/2014 23:06

Seem to remember thunderbird red and thunderbird blue....

KissMyFatArse · 06/09/2014 23:20

Merrydown, mad dog 20/20, pulse (worst ever!) or vodka and sunny d in sunny d bottle Confused

HaroldLloyd · 06/09/2014 23:22

When I was 16 it was a urine colour and didn't taste much better.

I forgot about Diamond White. I used to drink that too. I had NO taste! Sad

BreconBeBuggered · 06/09/2014 23:34

For my first under-age pub drink, I copied someone I thought was more worldly than I was, and boldly ordered...a port and lemon.

A few months on, I'd acquired a boyfriend with a taste for rum and blackcurrant. Good thing I was never sick on the sheets. My Mum's twin tub would never have got that lot out.

Welshwabbit · 06/09/2014 23:40

Started on Taboo and lemonade (my God, that was horrible) and Archers and lemonade, but had moved on to pints of lager by the time I was 17. Much better.

augustusglupe · 06/09/2014 23:45

Babycham
Pernod and moussec
Cider and black -usually on a Friday lunchtime with the girls from work and we'd have chicken and chips and then go back to work... at a bank...well it was the eighties Wink
Vodka and Russian
Blue moon ( think that was blue curaçao )
God I'm feeling queasy just listing this lot!!

minkymuskyslyoldstoaty · 06/09/2014 23:46

first ever drinks were cinzano or martini with lemonade. diamond white and
snake bite at college.
