AIBU?

to think beards and moustaches on men are generally very unattractive and probably unhygenic too?

I really can't stand beards and moustaches on guys, especially the bushy kind, especially when not a very nice colour and especially when on men with a lesser than average amount of hair on the top of their head.... Yuck!

They seem increasingly popular, especially with 20-30 somethings, though. Unfathomable to me. Am I alone in thinking this way? Too old? Too prudish? A bit of designer stubble is the most I can tolerate, but hate how spiky it feels on DH.

Bogeyface and blueshoes: not if you keep it conditioned and most importantly not too short.

Hmmm, I also strongly dislike beards and moustaches. Am thinking DH should get a few stick-on, (disposable!) ones for special occasions though.... ;) ;)

Generally I hate them. There are some men who really suit them but I think they're in the minority. Now I think a bit of stubble/tiny bit of facial hair is very sexy but anything more than that I don't like (unless they're one of the aforementioned men who really suit them). I don't really like the way they feel, they're all scratchy. My ex has got dark brown hair but his facial hair is ginger. It does look...odd. A beard on him also made him look very pervy so I begged him to shave it off.

I'm not sure about the unhygienic bit but I'll always remember there was a teacher at my school who had a bushy beard and he was a really messy eater. He was very fond of spaghetti and he'd suck long bits of it up which would go through his beard and sauce would get stuck in it . Put me off beards for life. It was vile but me and my friends would sit there in the dinner hall watching the spaghetti sliding through his beard in morbid fascination Grin.

Both Dp and Ds have short beards, and both look fab! Dp has shaved head, very short with greying beard and a tan, looks gorgeous- DS is very dark haired, dark beard, tanned face, green eyes-looks great - Son IL, however has mousy hair and a ginger long straggly beard and looks awful !
it depends on face shape, colouring`etc

Since putting on a little weight my dp looks ridiculous with out a beard! It needs to be kept though, groomed and maintained otherwise he ends up looking like a trampy version of the lead singer of Mumford and sons.
Before he suited no beard now he looks like a chubby baby face with out one.

I can't describe how much I hate them.

StrawberryMouse Not a beard fan at all. Every man and has dog has a beard and a sleeve tattoo here at the moment, it just screams fashion victim to me

I can't decide which I dislike more, the sheeplike men who mistake masculinity for copying their friends and getting pretty patterns drawn on themselves, or the actual ugliness of the beard.
