To think that the media is really irresponsible to publish pictures of D and DOC at a train station in this climate?

Firstly I am anti-royal so I have to be honest, generally I couldn't give a monkey's about their 'privacy'. I just think it's stupid to print them when we are on high alert. Train stations are massive targets anyway, but stuff like this just makes them even bigger. I am right in thinking it shows complete disregard for public safety and National security. Let's be honest the first hint of trouble the royals will be whisked off out of danger, whilst we plebs are blown to kingdom come.

The King and Queen of England stayed in London whilst it was having the CRAP bombed out of it. Princess Elizabeth and her siblings were involved in the war effort.

A train ride with a spaniel is pretty tame really in comparison

What, vaguely "important" people went on a train? The royal train (just out of interest )has been used for years. A fave of the queen apparently. They park in sidings - I don't think park is the right word though - so they are all refreshed for engagements. Never heard of anyone trying to blow that up either let along start on the national rail network. In the sense that royal personages were present.

Do you reckon terrorists are going to blow up a train station because some royals went there once, then?

Marmite Mountbatten was watched and his movements noted for weeks/months, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's itinerary can/will be changed if there is a realistic hint of a threat. As other posters have said the pictures were taken sometime ago, and in the current climate/level of risk it is unlikely they will be following set patterns and any terrorist will know that.

The general public are the target anyway, the aim is to turn the general populace against those that govern.

Royal visits etc come with a whole load of extra security procedures that would deter terrorists - more danger getting on a train with your average joe than Kate and wills, imho.

I just feel really nervous at the mo and stuff like this doesn't help. Obviously others don't feel the same and that's fine.
