To ask what threads you like best?

We had a thread a few months ago about what type of threads we didn't like reading on AIBU so I'm interested in the opposite

When you log on and scroll down the list of all the AIBU thread titles what is it that makes you pause and click on one in particular?

Is it because you just know a big argument will have broken out and you like reading heated threads?

It is because you know it will provide a good opportunity to talk about yourself?

Or simply because it's a subject you are interested in??

I find myself drawn to the "Am I BU or is my DH?" type threads as I like to see what couples argue about and see whether it's as petty as some of the arguments I have with my DH

I like the parking and neighbour war threads. I also like the flying ones, they are usually good for a battle. My all time favourites though are the ones where someone is HORRIFIED that a child got sweeties at school/party/whatever. Those are great!

Any where the op is being unreasonable but insists she isn't and fights her corner (did this myself once).
Has to be lighthearted though.

Otherwise it's stuff that interests me, spent a lot if time on the conception boards two years ago and made some great friends there.

Technology for small children is always fab
I'm a sucker for Bridezilla threads, weird thread titles and cheekiest/strangest things threads that usually end up in classics.
Oh, and Doctor Who.

I like the really petty stuff- pettier the better so that I can have a good froth.

I also love a bit of private landlord bashing ( that's NOT petty- you ARE cunts who're running the country into the ground)

Threads where someone is preaching vegetarianism. very few threads about vegetarianism actually do this, in fact. But sometimes you do get the guilt trips, such as the am I being unreasonable to wonder what on earth it would take for people to stop eating meat? thread.

I love the wedding ones, and anything to do with hygiene!
Love the parking wars ones too.
I sometimes read the work / job applicant ones too because professionally I might be able to help.

Weddings/stag and hen dos/begging poems etc etc etc

Seats on trains
Seats in restaurants/cafes
Brass-necked house guests

The wedding ones just for the sheer "who are these people and why are they so unhinged about one day in their life?" aspect. I have never known anyone in RL to have these conundrums so find it fascinating.

Ones where I think "huh? How is that even an AIBU as it's so clear cut, not even an issue" then realise pretty much everyone on the thread thinks the opposite (this could be 90% of threads on a given day)

Ones that prove I'm not being unreasonable (rare).
Hygiene.
MILs.
Crazy entitled/judgy ones like the lady complaining about layabouts in her library when she wanted to use the computer.

Nothing too deep. I agree with Saucy, the pettier the better.
And I sometimes drop in to threads about education, just to see if I can help (or gain a different insight!).

Wendy threads crack me up, I love a good Wendy thread, mainly because I cannot believe grown women act like this. If you have a bunch of "friends" who start excluding you at the behest of some Wendy-Come_Lately they weren't "friends" in the first place, or they secretly hated you and were grateful for an excuse to bin you when Mrs MuchMoreFunThanYou came along.

The 'woo' threads are where people tell their strange encounters and spooky stories. I get hooked on them and also sad that i have no particularly good examples!

Threads that just keep on giving, the OP comes back to update - like the one about the grabby naming ceremony wishlist that turned into a whole saga about the mother being steamrollered into having a ceremony she didnt want and the planner was a business associate of mother's sister, and it turned out she would get a cut ... And the Clumsy saga was MN Gold.

I really like the emplyment ones. I've learnt so much about workers' rights on here. Perhaps Mumsnet should form its own trade union.

I like parking threads. And threads about awful partners and their habits. Makes me think DH isn't quite so bad. Also employment threads and legal bits and pieces. And ones moaning about Tesco's. And house guests ones and asking for money in invitations. And hen night ones. And threads where totally everyone disagrees with the OP but she keeps going and after 40 pages decides everyone on MN is U except her.

I love the brass necked friends/neighbours/colleagues/family members - especially if there is an update where the OP conquers the brass neckers

I lurk a lot in the feminist section but rarely (only once!) post.
Newly pregnant or new parents threads - done it a few times so I might be able to help.

Threads about poo. Or other horribly embarrassing situations, like sending a text to the wrong person. Anything that spurs other posters to confess about similar hilarious mistakes. I'm always shaking with silent laughter so I don't wake the baby or DH.

Parking is always good for a fight. Entitled parents. And entitled non-parents.
