She took Iain's ice cream out of the freezer did she not?!

OP posts:

Sue Perkins @sueperkins · 8m
Iain's Alaska was out of the freezer for 40 secs. That's it. No sabotage. 40 secs of normal temp would NOT be enough to reduce it to liquid

HomeIsWhereTheHeartIs · 27/08/2014 21:25

Were they told to keep shush about Diana, do you reckon?
Why was nothing mentioned!?

squoosh · 27/08/2014 21:26

Ooooh stage managed drama. Who'd have thought!

OwlCapone · 27/08/2014 21:27

If it was only out for 40seconds, why was the footage edited to make it look like Diane had sabotaged it?

lordnoobson · 27/08/2014 21:27

to raise audience figures

JennyCalendar · 27/08/2014 21:27

Xpost with Majestic.

She still should have said the above (my previous post), but now I'm cross with editors/producers too.

MyFairyKing · 27/08/2014 21:28

Aahh Majestic that explains it. Poor Diana will get slated for this!

FlossyMoo · 27/08/2014 21:28

Just read DH Sue Perkins twitter and he's sat there all smug saying told you it was never going to set it was his fault. Hmm

HamishBamish · 27/08/2014 21:28

Good TV? I think it's actually quite unfair on her tbh. They deliberately made it look like she wrecked his bake and now she's going to face a lot of grief over it. She's an elderly woman in a baking competition fgs! People are taking it too seriously.

ColdTeaAgain · 27/08/2014 21:28

I think it was probably a genuine mistake but she then didn't hold her hands and say it was her fault.

I reckon he'll be back again next week.

FoodieToo · 27/08/2014 21:29

You know it looks like she did it on purpose because straight away she told him he could have used his own freezer!

FrancesNiadova · 27/08/2014 21:29

Ooh, edit-gate. Why deliberately paint Diana as evil villain? The BBC should 'fess-up, cough the lot!
(Apols to DianaBlush )

juneybean · 27/08/2014 21:29

Not sure if this will work but

twitter.com/hashtag/dirtydiana?src=tren

That picture of Diana looks so wrong!

Badvoc123 · 27/08/2014 21:30

Oh...and at the beginning of the programme it was edited so we had MB saying"it's unacceptable" and then a cut to of Diana making a face Hmm
Badly done, GBBO, badly done :(

LeBearPolar · 27/08/2014 21:30

All of a sudden, it's like watching Hell's Kitchen US. I keep expecting Gordon Ramsay to sweep in, sweep everything onto the floor in a rage and everyone's incompetence and tell them to 'Shut it DOWN!'

LeBearPolar · 27/08/2014 21:31

Badvoc - we were commenting on that too! Kept waiting for Mary to tell Diana off and...it didn't happen!

squoosh · 27/08/2014 21:31

Hmmmmm GBBO might want to relax with the dramatic edits, people claim to love the show for its gentle pace.

Muskey · 27/08/2014 21:31

I think she did it on purpose she didn't look that bothered either which really irritated me. Ian was a bit of a dick chucking it out but I can understand why he did it

ColdTeaAgain · 27/08/2014 21:31

If it was pure editing then shame on you BBC! Very cruel thing to do to Diana Sad

squoosh · 27/08/2014 21:36

The editors will probably go for a love triangle next week and maybe some shagging over a plate of scones.

Smilesandpiles · 27/08/2014 21:36

Ian may have been a tit for chucking it away but it's exactly the same reaction I would have had as well, possibly even the walking off.

I had to laugh and I felt every single bit of shame, stupidity and awkwardness he must have felt as well.

coffeeinbed · 27/08/2014 21:38

As someone on Twitter said, bring Cameron back from holidays to sort it out.

This type of horrific editing wouldn't have happened on bbc2 you know.

comediewithme · 27/08/2014 21:42

I've seen the glares she gives people who are getting good comments! That melted baked alaska was no accident!!!
