"If I Ran The Zoo"

It's sooooo long and it's such a tongue twister.

DS is 2.5 and I often get nice selections like Owl Babies or Oh No George.

But I got unlucky tonight and got 4670 pages of Dr. Zeuss' finest.

I like the story well enough, it's just a bloody epic to read :)

Another vote for you choose. My heart sinks when dd asks for it at bedtime, I'm sure she does purely to procrastinate and draw out story time as long as possible. 'Which dress would you wear to my party mummy? No you can't have that one, Lucy's having that, and I'm going to wear the brown one. No maybe that one. Mummy you can have the spotty one is that ok yes good? Mummy ask me which trousers I'd wear to soft play now....' I like reading a good story at bedtime, you choose is somehow never relaxing in our house...!

Love Mr Men here. Though some are terribly dated. Was reading Little Miss Trouble last night and two Mr Men punched Mr Small! I guess violence was the done thing in the early 80's but it seems odd now.

The Fucking Gruffalo can fuck off though, had more than enough of him.

Ah, DH does something similar with "Mr Bloom's Nursery", a very sweary version of "Meet the Veggies" no less.

The one book that has got on my boob end a bit is the Octonauts. Smalls doesn't have the attention span but insists that we read it to him, then wanders off after 4 pages. Too wordy by half!

Aliens love underpants followed by snail and the whale followed by monkey puzzle night after night after night is my idea of hell. I have tried to introduce other books but they are the only acceptable ones at bedtime. On the flip side she does go straight to sleep after I finish.
