NOW its for anything and tbh I think it is a bit twee.

trufflesnout · 18/08/2014 16:51

GRABS ALL THE HANDS.

STROKES ALL THE HAIR.

SourSweets · 18/08/2014 16:53

Can I also add "unmumsnetty hugs" to this? Every second post says it these days, so it's hardly "unmumsnetty". You might as well spell hugs with a Z.

HotPinkWeaselWearingLederhosen · 18/08/2014 16:53

ALL the hair?

Perv.

manofsponge · 18/08/2014 16:53

I need some hand holding. I've just discovered that my camp bed has got a puncture.

manofsponge · 18/08/2014 16:54

HotPinkWeaselWearingLederhosen · 18/08/2014 16:55

I just give a hug.

I don't object to hugs given or received but I do object to the term UnMumsnetty. Its too twee.

KateSMumsnet · 18/08/2014 16:56

Hullo all,

One of the things that we think is great about Mumsnet is that people can start a thread purely looking for support. We are a site for peer to peer support - and we'd hate to think that someone couldn't post looking for a shoulder to cry on. So bring on the hand holding we say!

manofsponge · 18/08/2014 16:57

you are just GAGGING for a hug, arentcha Kate? Grin

MrsCampbellBlack · 18/08/2014 16:57

I weighed myself this morning and it even looked bad in kg. Now, that required a very manly pat indeed.

manofsponge · 18/08/2014 16:58

( its not the support, it is that specific TERM that makes me itch)

OP posts:
trufflesnout · 18/08/2014 16:59

ALL the hair?

Perv.

now why isn't that one used more?

KateMoose · 18/08/2014 16:59

May I offer you a handshake OP and a murmur but avoidance of eye contact?

manofsponge · 18/08/2014 17:00

as long as its not a WET handshake.. ergh, like hairdressers give you

There was a weirdo the other day posting incestuous innuendo about her DH sharing a hotel room with his 'tall and slim' daughter. One particularly dim poster defended the OP, saying "perhaps she just needs her hand held?"

She needed her bloody bumps felt, that's what she needed. Predictably, it got deleted in the end.

KateMoose · 18/08/2014 17:01

Brew Biscuit Wine and Flowers

KateMoose · 18/08/2014 17:02

what like a limp wristed fingers only handshake?

MrsCampbellBlack · 18/08/2014 17:02

Oh that was a troll then bof - it certainly did read rather oddly.

AbbieHoffmansAfro · 18/08/2014 17:04

I offer no more than a curt nod.

AnyFucker · 18/08/2014 17:04

I like a firm grip of the upper arm and a "fgs pull yourself together and here, have some Wine ....)

manofsponge · 18/08/2014 17:05

LOVE the curt nod

I offer a Hat tip. Maybe not quite as pervy as this
