To say ds2 can only wear these awful, shorts in bed?

They are terrible - cheap, silky acrylic, baggy and just an offence to the eye. He says he is only intending to wear them round the house, but I think this says that he knows they are a fashion disaster, and thinks it is OK to inflict them on his loving family, but not his friends, and passing strangers.

I'm posting a photo - please ignore the grubby t-shirt - he wore that to do some painting.

Surely they are making his pubes stand on end like docs hair in back to the future? They are doing it to mine and that is just via photo.

DogCalledRudis · 15/08/2014 21:15

As soon as they appear in the laundry -- just bin them

PumpkinPie2013 · 15/08/2014 21:16

Oh dear Grin

How could he Grin

They definitely shouldn't be seen by anyone so perfect for bed! His eyes will be shut too so he'll only see them last and first thing Grin

Purplepoodle · 15/08/2014 21:20

Perfect slobbing house shorts

BathshebaDarkstone · 15/08/2014 21:23

I'm with DogCalledRudis. Grin

WorraLiberty · 15/08/2014 21:29

I love the colour of your wall behind your TV

As for the shorts...errr no comment! Grin

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 15/08/2014 22:24

He's taking 'No comment' to mean that you are on his side, Worra!

Well it's not for me to judge, but I do think cutting the lad's feet off was a bit harsh...

abigamarone · 15/08/2014 23:06

My eldest insisted on wearing one of those beanie hats in mid summer inside the house. I have no idea how it managed to disappear into the ether HmmGrin

CSIJanner · 15/08/2014 23:13

That looks like DC1's primary school PE kit....bar the paint that is

Spermysextowel · 15/08/2014 23:19

How did he manage to become the proud owner of this alarming article? If he bought it himself I think you should consider denying him access to funds for the foreseeable future.

Bouttimeforwine · 16/08/2014 00:52

my eyes, my eyes

You should have put a warning on the title.

partialderivative · 16/08/2014 01:24

Explain to me what the problem is with a pair of shorts?

Poor lad.

MamaPizza · 16/08/2014 08:25

I'm with your lad. For the house - what's the problem? As long as he is comfy. It's not like they are fluorescent orange with bright green polka dots then I'd understand if they hurt your eyes...

paxtecum · 16/08/2014 08:31

I don't understand the problem at all.
How old is he?

tabulahrasa · 16/08/2014 08:42

They pass my tests for whether my DC are allowed to wear clothes...they cover everything they're supposed to and don't have offensive slogans or pictures, other than that I care not, it's not me having to wear them.

paxtecum · 16/08/2014 08:46

Why do you want to control what he wears?

MsUumellmahaye · 16/08/2014 08:49

Don't go near him with a naked flame!!

TSSDNCOP · 16/08/2014 08:56

They're shiney in a way that makes me want to say it in a weird voice, but they're not that offensive.

If he aims right though he'll be able to slide in them on your laminate from one end of the room to the other.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 16/08/2014 16:10

Oh dear - should I have put 'lighthearted' in the thread title?

Ds2 is 17, paxtecum - and I don't want to control what he wears - even though he is somewhat style-impaired! He does have a fondness for man-made fabrics - but these shorts are a new nadir!

I shall try sliding him, TSSDNCOP - it sounds like a fun way to spend a rainy Scottish Saturday!

You could rub some balloons on him and see if he sticks to the wall?

PureMorning · 16/08/2014 16:47

You need to nip this in the bud.

Dh is 36 and wears these all the time.i wont get in the car with him until he changes. They are very shiney and his leg hairs stand up when they are on

HemlockStarglimmer · 16/08/2014 17:36

Our 40+ year old, very overweight, friend wears shorts like that. But he actually has been known to wear them outside the house...

There isn't an emoticon available that conveys the revulsion I feel when I see them.

StoneFoxMama · 16/08/2014 18:12

Explain the danger of electric shocks he is posing to all and sundry by wearing them. No one likes a static teen.
