AIBU to have got myself in a right old lather over David Tennant?

I had a lovely dream about David Tennant the other night and now I can't get him out of my head. I've been googling him, watching him on YouTube and having all sorts of shocking day dreams about him. I have this continual feeling that something exciting is going to happen, and when I pin it down, it's just that he's sort of in the back of my mind all the time. For goodness sake. I'm like a love struck teenager. I'm happily married and 42! Blimey the man is lovely though.

I prefer him now he's older but man, he was FILTHY in some of that :o I'm wondering if I can convince DH to go for a rewatch as we both loved it.

EmilyByrdStarr · 14/08/2014 17:26

DT is lovely, sigh. Really don't get the love for Cumberbatch though. Still laughing at the 'my eyes' comment above but DT can visit me with his sonic screwdriver anytime Wink Grin
< yes, I went there>

gordyslovesheep · 14/08/2014 17:27

I did talk to him - he also got down on one knee and gave my DD a big cuddle whilst shouting her name Grin

I am not Mrs Tennant though - and iDNSHC

I am more of a Matt Smith kind of girl ...and when I say 'girl' I do of course mean pervy middle aged woman

LucasNorthCanSpookMeAnytime · 14/08/2014 17:30

I think Cumberchops is attractive but I'm not attracted to him, if that makes sense. Apart from the thing which was amaaaaaazing :)

farewellfigure · 14/08/2014 17:30

I think I'd have shouted 'NO CUDDLE ME, CUDDLE ME'. I'm now all otherwise about thinking of him shouting my name. Oh heck. Sorry, that's kind of weird in the context of what you said.

HA IDNSHC. Took me a while to work that out.

Damnit, just watched that again for the umpteenth time. I'm still being faithful to David though.

no I felt pretty much the same - took all my effort not to elbow her out of the way

farewellfigure · 14/08/2014 17:32

Aw that's lovely gordy

The pic, not the elbowing. That's not lovely I so would have done it.

That last one was Dougray Scott, bonkers...

DiseasesOfTheSheep · 14/08/2014 17:34

I get it. He's quite acceptable here at Club Sheep (Club Diseases has really unfortunate undertones in this context so lets roll with Club Sheep...) I have obsessions like this all the time. But I'm single, bored and pathetic Grin So it's completely understandable, right? Moving swiftly on...

I clearly have no taste as I wouldn't kick the Otter-like one out of bed either. Or Matt Smith. I like skinny. I also like men who are safely on TV and not likely to crop up in real life!

farewellfigure · 14/08/2014 17:37

I hope if I did meet him I'd smile sweetly and look up endearingly under my batting eyelashes until he begged to take me home. In reality I'd be a gurning slobbering wreck. Not a pretty sight I guess.

Poor Mrs DT. Imagine having so many women fancying your DH.

What a lovely pic, gordy! My DD and I also met him at the stage door v.briefly - he was adorable. He is such a sweetheart - one of the few celebs that NOBODY has a bad word to say about.

farewellfigure · 14/08/2014 17:40

gordy where did you meet him? Did you just bump into him and ask for the photo? I saw a clip where he said he doesn't mind signing autographs (aah), but he did mind when a bloke in the gym tapped him on the shoulder to ask for an autograph while he was in the shower. They were both nude.

Now, if I knew who the autograph hunter was, he'd be able to confirm that DT does NOT have a thin jabby willy.

Oh blimey, the family are home. I'd better go and serve tea. And back to reality! Ha.

it was at a convention - it was my daughters birthday treat

farewellfigure · 14/08/2014 17:45

False alarm... it was the neighbour's car. Oooh, am now googling conventions. Oh hang on, was it when he was the Doctor? I don't suppose he does many conventions any more. Stage door it is then.

I'm very much looking forward to this...

He looks far too much like my twattish ex.

But yes, very good-looking.

I wonder why this happens?? I get in a lather over similar dreams too. I wonder if it's a spike in endorphins or whatever love-chemical is involved that lingers just as a real-life infatuation does. Caitlin Moran would say our brains do this automatically as occasional practice for the real thing. /terrible paraphrasing

ohmymimi · 14/08/2014 18:00

I've just watched DT in a repeat of 'A Secret Smile', in which his character was just a weeny bit obsessive, calculating, manipulative and murderous. He is pretty mesmerising.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 14/08/2014 18:02

Agree with expat, he doesn't do it for me either. Donald Sutherland though... what a silver fox! Blush

I spend most of my days in a daydream unless I have to concentrate... very nice it is too.

farewellfigure · 14/08/2014 18:03

Mmmm Donald Sutherland.

I agree, daydreaming is a very nice way to pass the time!

You can't have Donald, farewell, I've been in love with him since I was 15... (am 45 now). BlushGrin

AnathemaDevice · 14/08/2014 18:47

I don't get the DT thing (though I had a massitcrush on him when I was a teenager and he was in Takin' Over The Asylum), but I do understand the all encompassing celebrity crush thing. I'm currently spending way too much time online looking at pictures of Tom Hiddleston. And before that it was Rory from Doctor Who. I spent a good few months wishing I was Amy Pond, stuck in the Tardis with Rory and Matt Smith's Doctor.

I think I need to get out more.

LucasNorthCanSpookMeAnytime · 14/08/2014 18:53

I love Hiddles and Rory too! There are some really funny Hiddles clips on YT...
